Ubisoft CEO: Nintendo recommends launching a new Mario + Rabbids on the next-generation Switch

Nintendo and Ubisoft have collaborated to produce “Mario + Rabbit: Kingdom Battle”, a turn-based game similar to XCOM, which has reached 10 million unique players as of August 2022, and the two sides seem to continue to cooperate.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said when talking about the “Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope”, Ubisoft has released two “Mario + Rabbids” games on the Switch, and he feels that it is a bit too fast. Yes, you can put “Sparks of Hope” on the next-generation console, and Nintendo also suggested that they should only develop one new work every time a new console is released.

He also added that the game “will last a decade” and that the developer plans to “update it on future machines.” When the new Switch machine is launched, a new version of “Mario + Rabbit Sparks of Hope” may land on this model.

Games like this never go out of style at Nintendo. There are already 25 Mario games on Switch. Nintendo recommends that it's best to only do one iteration per machine generation. We were a little too fast and should have waited for the next generation of consoles. Because you can play a great game, and we think it will last a decade, because we keep updating it for new machines going forward.

In fact, the rumors of Nintendo Switch’s next-generation game console have been around for a long time. It is noticed that Sharp revealed last month that they were producing LCD screens for a “new game console,” reigniting speculation about the new machine.

Although Nintendo Direct is scheduled to air later today, there is a high probability that there will be no mention of the new Switch machine. Judging from the current revelations, Nintendo plans to release a new machine in 2024 and may announce some new information later.
