F (x) tec Pro1-X is F (x) tec’s smartphone with a slide-out full keyboard in 2020, released initially for pre-order through crowdfunding, but after a series of twists and turns, two years late, the first batch of phones are now shipping.

F (x) tec initially planned for the phone to use the Snapdragon 835 processor, but then the Snapdragon 835 processor was discontinued and F (x) tec couldn’t source enough 835 chips, so they switched to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 chip, which coincidentally coincided with a global supply chain shortage at the time, leading directly to the phone’s big delay.

But officials say the F(x)tec Pro1-X has started mass production this month, and F(x)tec says the first batch is on its way to those who participated in the crowdfunding campaign, with the second batch scheduled to ship in August.

The phone features a 5.99-inch 2160 x 1080 resolution AMOLED screen with third-generation Corning Gorilla Glass. 8MP front and 12MP f / 1.8 camera + 5MP depth sensor at the back. 3200mAh battery and Type-C port.

Other features include WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC and global 4G LTE network (no 5G support), and 6G+128GB and 8G+256GB storage combinations. f (x) tec Pro1-X is available with multiple operating systems: Android 11, Ubuntu Touch or LineageOS based on Android.

The phone’s slide-out keyboard features a QWERTY 64-key keyboard, and when the keyboard is slid out, the F (x) tec Pro1-X’s screen is tilted, kind of like a small laptop. The keyboard allows you to enter text, control games, and interact with applications without the virtual keyboard taking up a portion of the screen space.

The phone is also available for direct purchase now, but at a much higher price compared to the crowdfunding price, with the 8G+256GB version available directly on Indiegogo for $849 (about $5,725.32). It can also be purchased on the f (x) tec store for $829 ($5590.44) for the 6G+128GB and $899 ($6062.50) for the 8G+256GB.
