Twitter Officially Launches Ad Revenue Sharing Program

Twitter today officially launched the creator advertising revenue sharing program, Twitter’s official account announced the news on its platform.

Twitter said, “We’re expanding our creator monetization services to include ad-revenue share for creators. This means that creators can earn a share of ad revenue from replies to their posts. This is part of our efforts to help people make a living directly on Twitter. We’ll be rolling out the program more broadly later this month, and all eligible creators can apply.”

With conditions for creators to participate (one is missing):

  • Creators need to subscribe to the Twitter Blue service ($8 per month, currently around Rs. 57) or be Verified Organizations certified
  • Must have had 5 million views on their posts in each of the last 3 months.
  • Manual review by the Creator Monetization Service is required.

Elon Musk said that Twitter will begin paying certified content creators in a few weeks for ads placed in the comments of their tweets, with the first payments totaling about $5 million (currently about RMB 35.8 million), Elon Musk had tweeted, “Note that creators must be certified and only ads placed on certified users count.”
