Twitter has changed its name to X in the Apple App Store

The Twitter app has been renamed X in the Apple App Store today, which means that the company may have obtained special approval from Apple, because the App Store previously clearly stipulated that the app name requires at least two letters.

It was previously reported that under Elon Musk’s strong support, Twitter has recently fully started the process of renaming. Currently, the iOS and Android clients have been renamed X. However, according to feedback from some Apple users, Twitter still retains its original name in the Apple App Store.

Product designer Nick Sheriff previously stated on Twitter that Apple does not allow any app to use a single character as a name on iOS. But if Twitter gets special approval, it would mark the first time a company has received such permission since the App Store was founded.

However, on the main screen of an iOS device, the application name can be a single character, which is why the current name of the application has been displayed as “X” after downloading/updating, and the logo of the application has also been modified.
