Twitter CEO interviewed by Elon Musk’s lawyer: testify in case against Elon Musk

Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal will reportedly be questioned by Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s lawyers today to testify in the Twitter lawsuit against Elon Musk.

The testimony will take place behind closed doors at a San Francisco law firm at 9 a.m. local time Monday, court documents show. Agrawal’s testimony will be videotaped and will continue daily until all of Elon Musk’s lawyers’ questions are completed.

In fact, Agrawal’s testimony is taking place on the same day as Elon Musk’s. A document filed last week with the Delaware Court of Chancery shows that Elon Musk will be questioned by Twitter lawyers on Sept. 26-27. The questioning will take place behind closed doors at a law firm in Wilmington, Delaware. It could extend to Sept. 28 if necessary.

On April 26, Elon Musk and Twitter reached a buyout agreement in which Elon Musk would acquire Twitter for $54.20 per share in cash, a deal worth about $44 billion. On July 9, Elon Musk announced that he would terminate the deal because Twitter had seriously violated several terms of the agreement, including the issue of fake accounts, and on July 13, Twitter filed a lawsuit against Elon Musk.

The case is set to go to trial on October 17 of this year and will last for five days. Both sides are now rushing to the trial, seeking extensive communications and documents from the other side to better defend themselves.
