TSMC today announced its revenue figures for January 2023, according to IT News. The data shows that TSMC’s January 2023 revenue was approximately NT$200.5 billion (currently about RMB 45.01 billion), up 3.9% sequentially and up 16.2% year-over-year.
The first time TSMC’s January revenue exceeded NT$200 billion (currently about RMB 45 billion), a new high for the same period in a year.
For comparison, TSMC’s 2022 revenue was NT$ 22638.9 billion (currently about RMB 509.375 billion), up 42.6% year-over-year. Of this, December 2022 revenue was approximately NT$192.56 billion (currently approximately RMB 43.326 billion), down 13.5% sequentially and up 23.9% year-over-year.
In January, TSMC President Chieh-Jia Wei said that TSMC’s 7nm and 6nm capacity utilization is no longer at the high point of the past three years due to the sluggish PC and smartphone markets, as well as the impact of inventory adjustment by customers, and it is estimated that it will take several quarters to adjust.
