Today, TrendForce released a report saying that the global TV shipments in the second quarter of this year reached 45.17 million units, down 5% from the previous quarter and 6.8% year-on-year.

The report points out that this is the first time since 2012 that shipments in the second quarter were below a new record low of 46 million units, in addition to a significant decline in shipments due to the production chaos that occurred when the outbreak first occurred.

TrendForce said that the world continues to be enveloped in a hyperinflationary environment this year, with TV shipments reaching 92.72 million units in the first half of the year, down 5.8% year-on-year. At the same time, TV shipments this year were again revised downward to 202 million units, down 3.8% year-on-year.

According to the report, although the brand actively create new promotional opportunities, but if the results are not as expected, do not rule out the risk that the annual shipments are still revised down to below 200 million units. In addition, the report expects LCD TV shipments this year about 195 million units, down 4.1% year-on-year.
