TrendForce expects NAND flash memory demand to grow 28.9% next year, supply to grow 32%

According to foreign media reports, research firm TrendForce expects the DRAM oversupply situation to worsen next year, with the market size expected to grow by 8.5%, below 10% for the first time, but supply is expected to grow by 14% and prices are expected to continue to decline.

And from reports in the foreign media, the research firm expects supply growth to outpace demand growth, not only DRAM, NAND flash memory is also expected to be oversupplied.

In the report, the foreign media said that the research institute expects the market demand for NAND flash memory to grow 28.9% in the next year, and supply growth of 32.1%.

But unlike DRAM, where oversupply is more severe and could lead to price declines, the research firm believes that NAND flash has better price elasticity and that the average price in the enterprise SSD market is expected to rise somewhat after many consecutive quarters of decline.

For this year, some research firms expect the oversupply of NAND flash memory to continue through the end of the year, and more than half of NAND flash memory suppliers are expected to post operating losses in the third quarter of this year as prices continue to decline.
