TrendForce: Electric Vehicle Charging Sales Expected to Exceed 25% of Global New Vehicle Sales by 2025

According to TrendForce research, sales of BEVs, PHEVs, and FCVs, which can be externally charged or refueled, are expected to together account for more than 25% of global new vehicle sales by 2025.

The main market driver is the accelerated decarbonization of the world, with countries and companies aiming for carbon neutrality, and the elimination of fuel-fired vehicles, which are highly dependent on fossil fuels and a major carbon emitter, will be a top priority.

According to TrendForce, national budgets will be accelerated to support the construction of charging facilities and the establishment of systems and standards.

In addition, the proportion of vehicles and charging facilities is no longer only based on the number of vehicles as the evaluation benchmark for construction, but also on the appropriate planning according to the location and specifications, which makes it worth noting that there are many development directions besides the number of charging facilities.
