During the Guangzhou Auto Show that opened today, GAC Toyota’s new generation (ninth generation) Camry was officially unveiled. The new car will provide three styling styles: “Cyber”, “Elegance” and “Dynamic”, as well as three different power systems.

The three styling styles are expected to correspond to three power system models.

The car is still based on the TNGA-K platform and brings some localization adjustments for the domestic market. Compared with the current model, the car has a more sporty design, and the “cyber” style exterior kit uses a semi-enclosed middle grille with dense diamond-shaped gradient openings below.

In terms of configuration, the car is equipped with a 12.3-inch floating central control screen and a built-in Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip. The car system was developed in cooperation with Huawei, but its smoothness, intelligence and other aspects still need to be verified by the market. In addition, all windows of the car are equipped with double-layer laminated glass, which is expected to bring better quietness.

In terms of power, the car will be available in three types of power: a 2.0L fuel version, a 2.0L petrol-electric hybrid version and a 2.5L petrol-electric hybrid version. The parameters have not been disclosed yet. At the same time, this is also the first application of Toyota’s fifth-generation intelligent electric hybrid engine on the TNGA-K platform.
