Toyota’s official detailed data sheet. By region, Toyota (including Lexus) sold 175,800 vehicles in China in August 2023, a year-on-year decrease of 6.6%. Toyota officials said that sales in China fell year-on-year due to the rebound in purchase tax reduction measures implemented in the same month last year and intensified competition.
Looking at electric vehicle data, Toyota (including Lexus) sold 301,800 electric vehicles (including hybrid) in August 2023, a year-on-year increase of 48.9%; sales of electric vehicles (including hybrid) in China were 67,800. A year-on-year increase of 27%.
