Toyota’s first pure electric sedan bZ3 starts delivery: Equipped with BYD blade battery

Toyota bZ3 officially started delivery today. There are three versions of the new car, and the listing guide prices are as follows:

As Toyota’s new pure electric mid-size sedan, the bZ3 is based on the e-TNGA architecture and is equipped with blade batteries and drive motors provided by BYD. The CLTC’s comprehensive cruising range is 517km and 616km respectively.

According to reports, Toyota bZ3 is exclusively manufactured by FAW Toyota, and the three-electric technology is jointly developed by Toyota and BYD (The battery comes from Fudi Battery, and the drive motor comes from Fudi Power).

The length, width and height of this new car are 472518351475mm, the wheelbase is 2880mm, and it is equipped with 18-inch wheels. The drag coefficient is only 0.218. With the rear-drive mode, the power consumption is 11kWh/100km.

The exterior design of the bZ3 is similar to that of the bZ4X. The front face adopts a closed design, and the through-type LED daytime running lights highlight the new energy attributes. The headlight group is a matrix full LED light source with a sharp shape. The side lines of the car are smooth, and the suspended roof and hidden door handles add a sense of movement. In addition, its B and C pillars adopt a hidden design.

This car uses a 12.8-inch vertical central control screen, equipped with a car machine developed by BYD Toyota Electric Vehicle Technology Co., Ltd. (BTET), and adopts a new UI design. The larger vertical screen uses the navigation map as the home page The card-style shortcut function entrance and air-conditioning area are set up below, and it also integrates Kuwo Music, Himalaya, Anxiang Butler, application market and voice assistant “Xiaofei”, supporting 120s continuous dialogue.

In terms of power, the bZ3 uses a lithium iron phosphate blade battery provided by BYD Fudi Power and a rear single motor. The motor is available in two specifications of 135kW and 180kW, the peak torque is 303N m, and the fastest acceleration from 0-50km/h is 3.2 seconds.

The battery capacity is available in two options of 49.92kWh and 65.28kWh, and the corresponding CLTC cruising ranges are 517km and 616km respectively. In addition, it also supports fast charging, which takes 27 minutes at 30-80% at room temperature and 47 minutes at -10°C.
