Toyota, Huawei and Momenta Collaborate on Global Assisted Driving Solution

Tencent Auto reported that it was learned from people familiar with the matter that Toyota’s global model intelligent driving solution will adopt the “Toyota + Huawei + Momenta” tripartite joint solution model. This solution is different from Huawei’s existing ADS high-end assisted driving system. Momenta and Huawei provide software and hardware solutions respectively, and the three parties have in-depth cooperation and integration.

Toyota’s cooperation with autonomous driving company Momenta began in 2020. The latter provides Toyota with high-precision map services based on camera vision technology and promotes the commercial implementation of its automated map platform in China. In 2021, Momenta completed a Series C financing totaling US$500 million. Toyota participated in this round of financing as one of the strategic investors, further deepening the partnership between the two parties.

Previous cooperation between Toyota and Huawei has mainly focused on the field of smart cockpits. Last month, Toyota launched a new ninth-generation Camry for the Chinese market. This model is equipped with a newly built car-machine system and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, making it The operational smoothness of the vehicle system has been significantly improved compared to the previous generation model.

According to reports, Toyota plans to officially announce the specific details of this intelligent driving solution during the Beijing Auto Show.

Huawei currently provides three main models for cooperation with car companies, namely parts supply model, solution model (HI model) and smart car selection model (Hongmeng Zhixing).
