Today, NIO announced that the first batch of full-process production line trial cars of the medium-sized smart electric coupe ET5 officially rolled off the production line at NIO’s second production base in the park.
NIO said that this marks that ET5 has entered a new important production stage: the maturity of ET5 product verification and industrial debugging has been further improved, and it is one step closer to mass production.
According to reports, the full-process production line trial vehicle, also known as the TT (Tooling Trial) vehicle, is a trial-manufactured and debugged vehicle that is produced in accordance with the control plan before mass production. In the TT stage, vehicle products and process maturity will be closer to the requirements of mass production, and more limit tests will be carried out one after another. After completing the three core tasks of “validation of mass production process documentation”, “training of production line operators” and “validation of production line manufacturing capabilities”, the vehicle will enter the pre-production stage to prepare for mass production.
As planned, the production base will be officially put into operation in the third quarter of this year.
