According to reports, the latest recruitment information shows that Tesla’s Texas factory has begun to recruit workers to prepare for the long-awaited Cybertruck pickup truck mass production.
Tesla released the Cybertruck pickup truck back in 2019, but its production date has been pushed back three times so far: from its original late 2021 to late 2022, then to early 2023, and now to mid-2023 .
In recent months, Tesla has been working hard on this, and related production equipment has already entered the Texas factory one after another. Tesla CEO Elon Musk also confirmed on a conference call last month: “Final preparations are being made for the production of the CyberTruck.”
Today, new job postings confirm this. For the first time, Tesla has listed the first six job postings for the production CyberTruck pickup truck, including dimensional engineer (dimensional engineer), manufacturing operations supervisor, senior equipment engineer, dimensional engineering manager and equipment engineering manager.
Industry insiders said that for Tesla, the production of Cybertruck pickup trucks is expected to face considerable challenges. Musk has previously said that due to features such as the steel body, the Cybertruck will face challenges in production and require a new manufacturing process.
To that end, Tesla has ordered the world’s largest casting machine. But since this is a new technology, it is expected that there are still some thorny issues to solve before it can enter mass production.
As a new model, the Cybertruck is seen as key to Tesla’s business growth. The start of production in the middle of next year, and the gradual realization of full-scale production, means that Tesla will not be able to include a full quarter of Cybertruck revenue data in its earnings report until early 2024.
It also means that for the hundreds of thousands of potential buyers who have paid a deposit of $100, there is still a year to wait.
Tesla has yet to announce the final pricing for the Cybertruck. In 2019, Tesla had expected an initial price of less than $40,000. But since then, as car prices have risen, Tesla has also raised prices across its entire product line.
