According to teslarati reports, Tesla has sold electric vehicles in Malaysia, the first models are Model 3 and Model Y.

It is understood that Tesla’s application to import pure electric vehicles (BEVs) to Malaysia has been approved by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) in early February, and preparations for car sales in Malaysia have begun. At the same time, Tesla is preparing to establish several new operating branches, including headquarters, service centers and super charging network.

After Tesla launched the Model Y in Malaysia (Model 3 will be pre-ordered at the end of September), it received 10,000 orders in four days. The reservation price of Model Y starts at 199,000 ringgits (Note: currently about 314,000 CNY).

Musk revealed in a conference call that Tesla will build offices, stores, service centers, and a supercharging network in Malaysia, with its Malaysian headquarters in Selangor.
