This behavior is also interpreted by the market as Tesla “disguised price reduction of 8000 yuan”.

Securities Times field visit to Tesla Shanghai stores, Tesla store sales staff confirmed the authenticity of the net rumor email.

“We generally do not do this kind of subsidy activities, this is a temporary activity, in order to sprint delivery volume.” The sales staff told reporters that the 30th pick up the car can enjoy 8000 yuan subsidy, will be delivered in the final payment when the car price reduction.

The official website shows that the Tesla Model 3 is currently priced at 279,900 yuan for the rear-wheel drive version and 367,900 yuan for the high performance version; the Model Y is priced at 316,900 yuan for the rear-wheel drive version, 394,900 yuan for the long-range version and 417,900 yuan for the high performance version.

With the renovation and upgrade of the production line of Tesla’s Shanghai factory completed in July, the annual production capacity of the Shanghai factory has also reached 750,000 units, and the lead time of Tesla Model 3 and Model Y models in the Chinese market has been greatly shortened. Currently, the Model Y rear-wheel drive version is the fastest, with a delivery cycle of only 1-4 weeks, while the Model 3 and other versions of the Model Y have a delivery cycle of 6-10 weeks or longer.
