Recently, a Canadian Tesla owner exposed the problem of his Model S vehicle, which was locked out after the battery died, but according to Tesla’s after-sales service, solving his vehicle’s problem would require replacing the battery pack at a cost of $20,000 (about yuan 140,000). The owner, Mario Zelaya, is reported to have posted a TikTok video appealing to Tesla to solve the problem.

In the video, the owner says he can’t get inside the Model S when it’s dead, and it doesn’t respond to charging, and he can’t even get the certificate of ownership out of the car to get rid of it.

This is why you shouldn’t buy a Tesla,” the owner says angrily in the video, adding that “this car is junk.

The owner says he bought the car in 2013 for $140,000 and the Tesla repair work order shows that it cost more than $20,000 to replace the battery pack. The car had only accumulated 77,000 miles, but Tesla CEO Musk had said that Tesla batteries are designed to last 300,000 to 500,000 miles, about 21 to 25 years before they need to be replaced.

After testing by a third-party agency, the battery had rusted because the car’s air conditioning unit had a drain pipe located above the battery box that was constantly leaking water into the battery unit, causing damage to the vehicle’s battery.

Subsequently, instead of opting to repair the vehicle, the owner sold the vehicle after spending $30 to replace the vehicle title. The new owner pried open the vehicle’s front bumper to gain access to the vehicle.
