When the brand new 2023 Texas-built Tesla Model Y becomes available, it will be available in plenty, as the company is adding new production units. As customers can’t wait to try their hands on the new model, the wait certainly is a long one with customer deliveries not happening until early 2023 for the Performance trim and mid-2023 for the more awaited Long Range trim.
Tesla’s Model Y crossover SUV is the company’s best-selling EV, even better than what Model 3 could achieve. Surprisingly the handling and performance of the car are not at par with that of Model 3. A major part of the credit for its huge sales is the great practicality that the car offers. The vehicle is one of the few rare ones that features a third row of seating.
2023 Tesla Model Y: Specifications
Tesla has not revealed any details as yet on the specifications of the car. The 2023 Tesla Model Y would be a dual-motor all-wheel-drive vehicle. The two motors placed one at the front and one at the rear would draw 384 horsepower for the Long Range trim while it will draw 480 horsepower for the Performance trim. The car would race from 0 to 60mph in 4.8 seconds and would run at an optimum speed of 135mph for the Long Range trim and 155mph for the Performance trim.
Tesla revealed that the new Texas-built Model Y Standard would start at $59,990. The release date for the 2023 Tesla Model Y would likely be in Fall 2022. And it would be another few further months till the car becomes available in the US and international markets.
