Tesla drops Model 3 long-range version from North American market as orders backlogged until 2023

August 13 news, according to foreign media reports, in order to avoid customers waiting too long to pick up the car, the U.S. electric car manufacturer Tesla decided to no longer accept the U.S. and Canadian market users to book the Model 3 long-range version of the electric car.

The analysis suggests that as electric vehicle technology becomes more mature, more users are ordering electric vehicles. Coupled with rising gasoline prices and a new bill that begins to limit electric vehicle subsidies, electric vehicles are becoming increasingly popular in the short term.

Although Tesla has raised the prices of all its models several times, the rising demand for electric cars has led to a significant increase in the number of orders from Tesla in several regions of the United States. In March, Tesla’s website showed that deliveries of many Tesla electric cars for the U.S. market were already scheduled through 2023.

In May, Tesla CEO Elon Musk warned that Tesla may stop accepting orders for certain models as the backlog of orders continues to grow and delivery times are extended.

Tesla’s U.S. website currently shows that the Model 3 Long Range version is now grayed out and consumers have no option to order it. Tesla added that the Model 3 long-range version will be “available for order again in 2023. Meanwhile, Tesla’s Canadian website has also taken the Model 3 Long Range offline.

The Model 3 long-range version is one of Tesla’s most popular models. According to Musk’s warning, Tesla currently has a backlog of orders for the Model 3 long-range version, and there is no point in taking new orders.

Tesla’s U.S. website is also no longer showing the price of the Model 3 Long Range Edition, which was previously priced at $57,990. When Tesla reopens reservations, the price of the Model 3 Long Range Edition may be adjusted.

The Model 3 Long Range Edition may be one of the few electric cars to qualify for the new electric vehicle tax credit. But under the new policy, the car must cost less than $55,000 to qualify for the subsidy.
