Tecno Phantom X2 5G, Phantom X2 Pro 5G bags EEC certification, likely to launch soon

Two devices from Transsion Holding subsidiary just got their EEC certification, the Tecno Phantom X2 5G, and Pro 5G. Both devices will succeed the Phantom X launched in June 2021. They will come with upgrades to the performance of the Phantom series. One of such upgrades will be the use of a MediaTek 5G processor. Let’s take a look at these coming devices and see what to expect.

Tecno Phantom X2 5G, Phantom X2 Pro 5G EEC certified

Tecno Phantom X2 5G EEC certification

The first device we will consider is the Phantom X2 5G, which has the model number KZ0000005040. The EEC certification of this device didn’t come with any specifications. Just the device name, model number, and date of registration being June 28.

Tecno Phantom X2 5G Pro EEC certification

The second device will be the Pro model of the Phantom X2 series. It comes with the model number KZ0000005042 and just like the other model, there are no available specifications. We can be sure that this Pro model will come with a bit of improvement as against the Phantom X2.

Possibly, more storage, higher camera megapixels, and a better battery. Whatever the case, we’d wait for an official release or trustworthy leak to be able to compile the specifications of these devices. But in the meantime, we can take a look at the specifications of the Tecno Phantom X from last year. This might give us a hint into what improvements we can expect from its successors.

Tecno Phantom X specifications and features

Tecno Phantom X2 5G

This device is the first attempt at a mid-range flagship experience from Tecno. Over the years, the company alongside its sister brands have stuck with the pure mid-range and budget market. But they (Tecno and Infinix) are beginning to step into a more premium market. The specifications and design of the Tecno Phantom X proved true to this migration.

  • Screen: 6.7-inch Super AMOLED.
  • Processor: MediaTek Helio G95 processor.
  • Storage: 8GB/256GB.
  • Main Camera: Triple setup with a 50MP main camera, 13MP telephoto, and an 8MP ultrawide camera.
  • Front Camera: Dual selfie camera, 48MP wide and 8MP ultrawide front-facing camera.
  • Battery: 4700mAh battery with 33W fast charge.
  • Operating System: HiOS 7.6 on Android 11.
  • Biometrics: Under-display fingerprint sensor.

These are the specifications of Tecno’s first attempt at a mid-range flagship device. The coming Phantom X2 5G series will improve upon a lot of its predecessor’s features. We’d wait to get the full specification and launch date of these devices from Tecno in the coming months.
