At the IFA 2023 trade show today, Transocean announced the TECNO MEGABOOK S1 Dazzling Edition notebook.

The device is described as the first notebook with a color-changing surface using “Multi-color Light Isomer” technology. The device is positioned as a creative laptop for business, with a thin and light body and a bezel-less screen.

The technology allows monochromatic surfaces to display other colours when exposed to ultraviolet rays from sunlight, said Transn. With the ability to dynamically change colours based on sunlight exposure, individuals can customize the look of the laptop to suit their needs.

Of course, the laptop is not yet on store shelves and is expected to be a concept product.

The TECNO MEGABOOK S1 regular laptop was released late last year and is 13.5mm thick, weighs 1.35 kg, is powered by a 12th-generation Core processor, and features a 15.6-inch 3.2K 120Hz display.

This technology has been used in cell phones, Last July released TECNO CAMON 19 Pro Mondrian cell phone was equipped with the same “multi-colour light isomer” technology.

In addition, TECNO also has more colour-changing technology in reserve and officially demonstrated Chameleon Coloring Technology at MWC 2023 this year, which can be embedded into devices such as the back of a smartphone to create a variety of colour patterns with the press of a button.

Chameleon colouring is a full-spectrum electronically controlled prism colouring technology that uses a grid of sub-micron prism material that changes direction when an electric field is applied, according to TECNO. By precisely controlling the orientation of the prisms, the material can refract many different wavelengths of light, rendering a wide range of rainbow colours.
