The government of Gujarat, India announced that the Indian industrial giant Tata Group signed an agreement with the state to build the country’s first lithium-ion battery super factory.

According to public documents, on Friday, Tata Agaratas Energy Storage Solutions, a subsidiary of Tata Group, signed a memorandum of understanding with Gujarat to build an electric vehicle battery factory with a production capacity of 20 gigawatt hours in the state to produce India’s first batch of lithium-ion batteries. , with an estimated initial investment of nearly 130 billion rupees (Note: currently about 11.18 billion RMB), creating direct and indirect employment opportunities for more than 13,000 people.

Tata Group is currently the largest group company in India, including 96 companies in 7 departments, operating in more than 40 countries on six continents, and its products are exported to 140 countries, involving aviation, automobiles, fast-moving consumer products, Chemicals, defense and aerospace, power distribution systems, engineering, finance, medical care, information, railway locomotives, real estate, steel, communications and other fields.

According to public information, Tata Group got its name from its founder, Jamshidji Tata, whose family members have almost always served as chairman of the group. The chairman of the group during the transition period is Ratan Tata.
