A patent for “hidden door handles, doors and vehicles” from Xiaomi Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. was recently authorized.

The patent document states that in a car, a door handle is required to open all side doors, and the door can be opened by pulling the door handle. The handles are divided into convex type, semi-hidden type, and hidden door handles. The hidden door handles can reduce the wind resistance of the entire vehicle.

in related technologies. The hidden retractable door handle requires a space to accommodate the retraction of the handle. After the retraction of the handle, another space is set up that is completely independent of the retraction envelope of the handle. The relevant structure for opening the door is set up in this space. The car door can be opened by operating the corresponding mechanism in this space. That is, the hidden retractable door handle solution needs to be provided with two independent spaces, and the design solution must be made into an electric solution to drive the handle to retract, making the overall structure complex and High cost and heavy weight.

The patent summary shows that the patented hidden door handle does not require an electric drive component and can automatically reset the hidden position of the handle component. It has a simple structure, reduces weight, reduces costs, and is more convenient to operate.

According to previous reports, Xiaomi’s first model, SU7, uses a semi-hidden door handle, which avoids the difficulty of popping up that traditional pop-up door handles may encounter. It can be seen from the patent that Xiaomi has also laid out the hidden door handle technology and made design improvements.

According to the official website of the State Intellectual Property Office, the patent for “display assembly and vehicle” applied by Xiaomi Automobile has been authorized and announced on July 18, 2023.

The abstract shows that the patent designs a display assembly for a vehicle, including a display screen, a translation mechanism, a first rotation mechanism and other components. Wherein, the translation mechanism can drive the first rotation mechanism to translate, and the first rotation mechanism can drive the display screen to “rotate around the rotation axis extending in the horizontal direction”.

The display assembly claims to “be able to realize the translation of the display screen while meeting the occupant’s use needs after lying down.”

It is worth noting that there is already a similar model on the market — Zeekr X. The central control panel of the car can slide from the central position of the central console to the position directly in front of the co-pilot through the electric mechanism. Under the current trend that more and more new cars are equipped with both the central control panel and the co-pilot panel, it looks particularly different.

It was previously reported that digital blogger @Digital chat station once posted that Xiaomi’s first car will be launched next year, and it will be equipped with self-developed chips and car-machine system architecture with “good gold content”. In addition, Xiaomi Motors has also started the screening work of the delivery center, and the quotation for the first model has been completed. Car blogger @MetaAuto also exposed the detailed parameters of the Xiaomi car battery: it is expected to support 800V high-voltage fast charging, with a capacity of 101 kWh. Many car bloggers pointed out that this battery “should be a ternary lithium version”.

Xiaomi Mobile Software Co., Ltd. has recently announced the patent for “antenna module and wearable device”.

After inquiring the State Intellectual Property Office it is learned that this disclosure is about an antenna module and a wearable device.

The radiator of the antenna module includes a first radiating part and a second radiating part which are isolated from each other, the first tuning circuit is connected to the first tuning point of the first radiating part, and the second tuning point of the second radiating part is connected to the second tuned circuit. Through the length layout of the first radiating part and the second radiating part, the setting positions of the first tuning point and the second tuning point, and the tuning of the first radiating part and the second radiating part, the first radiating part and the second radiating part. The radiator can support dual positioning frequency bands and dual communication frequency bands, which improves the positioning accuracy and communication efficiency of the antenna module and the smart wearable device including the above antenna module.

It is not difficult to see from the patent information that this patent is mainly aimed at improving the positioning and communication quality of smart wearable devices. At present, it is not known whether Xiaomi will use it in smart wearable devices after the patent is authorized.

The patent for “a camera module and electronic equipment” applied by Xiaomi Mobile Software Co., Ltd. was recently authorized.

Abstract shows that the present disclosure is about a camera module and electronic equipment, belonging to the field of electronic equipment technology, the camera module includes a connection frame and a plurality of lenses set in the connection frame, the connection frame includes a connection deformation part; when the camera module is not working, the connection deformation part is in the first form, the optical axes of each lens are parallel to each other, and the plurality of lenses are staggered; when the camera module is in the working state, the connection deformation part is in the second form, and the plurality of lenses are set laminated, and the optical axes of each lens overlap.

In this disclosure, connecting deformation parts are provided on the connecting frames of multiple lenses, and the relative positions between multiple lenses are changed by changing the shape of the connecting deformation parts. With the cascading configuration, a single camera module can be used to meet various shooting requirements. While ensuring the camera effect of the electronic device, the overall height of the camera module can be reduced, thereby effectively reducing the thickness of the electronic device.

It reminds of the Mi 12S Ultra concept machine, which can be connected to a Leica lens through an adapter ring (of course, it is not exactly the same as the above patent). The Mi 12S Ultra concept machine moves the ultra-wide-angle lens that was originally located in the middle of the camera module to the bottom. A 1-inch CMOS is placed in the middle, and the 1-inch CMOS main camera on the left is retained. Since the CMOS size is 1 inch, the original 50mm standard lens becomes 133mm after being converted to a Leica lens. In addition, the Mi 12S Ultra concept machine is also equipped with a professional mode with an external lens.

Today the patent for an “integrated wearable device” applied by Beijing Xiaomi Mobile Software Co., Ltd. was authorized.

The patent abstract shows that the all-in-one wearable device includes: a Bluetooth headset, glasses and a charging component. The glasses include a frame and a charging component inside the frame. Through the principle that the piezoelectric material in the glasses is pressurized to generate electricity, the mechanical energy that the human body moves to drive the built-in ball rolling is converted into electrical energy, thereby charging the rechargeable battery, effectively realizing the self-charging of the built-in rechargeable battery, and through the magnetic suction. The first wire of the interface is connected to the glasses frame and the Bluetooth headset, so that the rechargeable battery in the glasses can charge the Bluetooth headset, thereby preventing the Bluetooth headset from being unable to use due to sudden power shortage, and effectively improving the user’s product experience.

There have been many technical reports on converting the kinetic energy of the human body into electrical energy before, but there is no such commercial product on the market. Although this charging method is not very powerful, it is very suitable for charging. For wearable devices that consume little power, we look forward to Xiaomi being able to apply this patent to real products as soon as possible.

Xiaomi Auto Technology Co., Ltd. published a patent for “vehicle falling into water detection method, vehicle, computer-readable storage medium and chip”.

The patent abstract shows that the present disclosure relates to the field of automatic driving. By acquiring the sensor detection information output by the inertial measurement unit IMU and the multi-frame images captured by the camera, the vehicle pose is determined, and the distance between the vehicle and the water surface is determined according to the pose, and the distance is less than a predetermined distance. Under the threshold condition, it is determined that the vehicle is about to fall into the water.

The patent specification shows that the patent can predict the vehicle falling into the water and send a signal, which improves the safety of the vehicle, reduces the installation of liquid level sensors and their maintenance, and reduces the cost of the vehicle.

At the Xiaomi press conference in August, Lei Jun said that Xiaomi has invested 3.3 billion yuan in R&D in the first phase of autonomous driving, and established a top R&D team with over 500 people. At the same time, through wholly-owned mergers and acquisitions and industrial investment in upstream and downstream enterprises and other means to promote the medium and long-term industrial layout in the field of autonomous driving. This shows that Xiaomi has invested heavily in this field, and it is difficult to lower the cost of the first model.

Lei Jun previously said that Xiaomi’s first car will be delivered in the first half of 2024.
