Now, a document submitted by Microsoft to Brazilian regulators has finally unveiled the true performance of Xbox One. In that document, Microsoft said: “Sony has surpassed Microsoft in terms of sales and ownership of video game consoles. For the Xbox One generation, Sony PS4 has sold more than twice as many units as we have.”

Today, Sony no longer reports its PS4 shipments. But as of March this year, it sold 117.2 million units. Although Microsoft did not provide specific sales figures for the Xbox One, this document suggests that its sales are certainly below 58.5 million units.

The figure is in line with a study by market research firm Ampere Analysis 2020, which put Xbox One ownership at 51 million units by the end of the second quarter of 2020.

By comparison, the Nintendo Switch currently sells 111.08 million units and is expected to surpass Sony’s PS4 year later this year. That said, Microsoft appears to be closing this huge gap with its Xbox Series S/X consoles.

Forza Motorsport leaked images running on Xbox One

A Reddit user, named Zorpalweapon, shared a post titled, “Forza motorsport Xbox One”. the post contained two work-in-progress screenshots of Forza Motorsport from the Xbox One build. According to this leaker, the game will be cross-gen and it has already been played by a few content creators and the screenshots are from last July.  

The account of the leaker has since been deleted, and it is pretty easy for anyone to post high-quality images on Reddit and claim them to be real. But the moderator of the r/GamingLeaksandRumours subreddit has claimed that the images are coming from a legitimate source.  

So, we are in fact getting a closer look at the in-game screenshots of the new Forza Motorsport game which will probably be revealed on June 12th in the Microsoft and Bethesda Showcase. 

Sadly, this is it. The images didn’t reveal much about the game. We are not even sure whether the iconic features are coming back. Also, the images are from an Xbox One build. So, we also haven’t had a glimpse of the next-gen graphics. 

Although some of the Xbox fans are pretty disappointed for Forza Motorsport being revealed as a cross-gen title. Still, it’s to be noted, that the Forza Horizon 5 was also a cross-gen title but it still featured incredible visuals and the same goes for Sony’s Gran Turismo 7. 

Basically, this is the best way for the studios to generate the highest revenue possible. Forza Motorsport doesn’t have an official launch date yet, but it is expected to be released later this year or in early 2023.
