Two folding screen phones, Vivo X Fold 2 and Vivo Filp, officially went on sale today. Vivo X Fold2 has two versions of 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB, priced at 8999 CNY and 9999 CNY; Vivo X Flip also has two versions of 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB, priced at 5999 CNY respectively and 6699 CNY.

Vivo released its first top and bottom folding product Vivo X Flip phone, using BOE’s exclusive supply of flexible OLED internal and external dual screens.

This time, BOE provided high-end flexible OLED display technology solutions for the vivo X Flip series, and equipped with BOE’s ultra-thin flexible glass cover (UTG) technology, which enhances the hardness and bendability of the folding screen, making the screen thinner and lighter while more resistant to damage.

The inner screen of the Vivo X Flip is equipped with BOE’s 6.74-inch OLED flexible folding screen, which uses a water-drop folding and bending solution and remains flat after bending and unfolding.

By using BOE’s adaptive LTPO dynamic refresh technology, the Vivo X Flip series can achieve an intelligent dynamic adjustment of the refresh rate between 1Hz and 120Hz, enabling adaptive screen refresh for different scenes according to the display screen.

In addition, the BOE’s flexible screen with 240Hz touch sampling rate also enhances the screen’s touch response speed, making the screen more fluid and lag-free.

In terms of image quality, both the inner and outer screens of the Vivo X Flip series use BOE’s new generation Q9 luminescent material. The inner screen is equipped with BOE’s unique pixel arrangement, which optimises the underlying logic structure of the pixel display and upgrades the colour display to the highest level; at the same time, it adopts BOE’s wide colour gamut technology, with a peak brightness of 1200nit.

In terms of eye protection, the inner screen of the Vivo X Flip is equipped with BOE’s ultra-high-frequency PWM dimming technology, which improves the dimming frequency and reduces the potential harm to the eyes from the screen strobe even in dim light conditions. It also reduces the percentage of harmful blue light on the screen by optimising the core light-emitting structural unit in the screen.

Vivo is reportedly making a flip phone called the Vivo X Flip for the Chinese market. Leaks say that the device, along with the Vivo Pad 2, will come out in April. The supposed X Flip phone with model number V2256A has been spotted on Geekbench, which suggests that the company may be testing its performance internally before making it public.

The Vivo X Flip Geekbench listings reveal that it is powered by a Qualcomm chip that clocks at 3.0GHz. The source code of the listing reveals that it is equipped with the Adreno 730 GPU. The CPU and GPU details available in the listings are a good hint that the Vivo X Flip is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1. The listings further reveal that it has 12GB of RAM and runs on Android 13 OS.
