Samsung had not followed the established release cycle to launch the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, so the release time of the next-generation flagship tablet Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra is unclear. The latest rumors claim that Samsung has encountered some problems during the development of its high-end tablet, which will be unveiled alongside Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series of flagship smartphones due to be released in early 2025.

However, it is still unknown whether the lower-priced Galaxy Tab S10 and Galaxy Tab S10 Plus will be released together with the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra. According to tipster “kro”, Samsung’s largest and most expensive tablet will be released next year alongside the Galaxy S25 series. It is noticed that the last time Samsung released a flagship smartphone and tablet product line at the same time was back in 2022, when it released the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra series. Samsung may be considering a similar launch strategy, but the rumors don’t reveal details about the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra’s development issues.

Now that Qualcomm has officially announced the Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon X Plus, coupled with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 expected to be released in October, Samsung may be facing another problem. In addition, the Samsung Galaxy S25 series is said to adopt a dual-chipset strategy, and some models will be equipped with Exynos 2500 processors. Previous rumors suggested that the Exynos 2500 will be launched in two versions, one with an eight-core CPU cluster and the other with a ten-core CPU cluster.

The version with a higher core count may be tailor-made for large-screen devices such as tablets, and referring to the previous Galaxy Tab Ultra model, the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra is expected to use the same huge 14.6-inch display. With such size and cooling capabilities, the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra can be powered by Snapdragon X Elite, Snapdragon X Plus, Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, and Exynos 2500 processors. However, Samsung seems to be in a dilemma when it comes to choosing a processor.

On the one hand, if it adopts the Exynos 2500 processor, Samsung can save on component costs and avoid paying Qualcomm’s premium. However, this also means that the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra may lag behind Apple’s next-generation iPad Pro series, which is rumored to be powered by M3 chips, in terms of performance. On the other hand, if Samsung uses Qualcomm’s chipset, it will not only have to pay extra, but it will also not be financially worthwhile considering that Samsung does not have a high share of the global tablet market.

After the popularity of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series gradually subsided, the next highly anticipated Fan Edition (FE) model-Galaxy S24 FE ushered in new news.

According to GalaxyClub, Samsung is developing a new model code-named R12. Looking back at the past three generations of FE models, the Galaxy S20 FE, S21 FE and S23 FE were codenamed R8, R9 and R11 respectively, so the identity of the R12 is imminent (but it should be noted that the Galaxy S22 FE, codenamed R10, is not on the market) .

Apart from the codename, no other information about the Galaxy S24 FE has yet been revealed. In contrast, a lot of news about the Galaxy S23 FE has been exposed during the same period last year, which also implies that the launch of the S24 FE may be delayed by a few months.

Galaxy S23 FE will be launched in some markets in October 2023, and will be launched in more markets in early 2024. But judging from the current development progress of the S24 FE, this model may not be available until November at the earliest.

The hardware configuration of the S24 FE is also unknown. The previous generation S23 FE used the Exynos and Snapdragon chips of the S22 series in terms of processor, rather than the chips of the flagship S23 series of the same period. Whether Samsung will continue this approach is still unknown.

Samsung Electronics recently joined hands with Qualcomm to successfully test the implementation of 1024 Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) on frequency division duplex (FDD) and time division duplex (TDD) spectrum basebands. , which can increase downlink speed by more than 20%.

Quadrature Amplitude Keying is a method of combining two amplitude modulated signals (2ASK and 2PSK) into one channel, thereby doubling the effective bandwidth for more efficient transmission of data or information.

The communications industry currently uses 256 QAM, but Samsung and Qualcomm Technologies implemented the latest 1024 QAM in compliance with the 3GPP Release 17 specifications.

This enhanced QAM technology helps operators maximize the utilization of spectrum resources, allowing mobile users to seamlessly enjoy various mobile services such as live video streaming and online multiplayer gaming.

The test was conducted at Samsung’s R&D labs in South Korea and utilized Samsung’s 5G vRAN software and radios (supporting the 2.1 GHz (FDD) and 3.5 GHz (TDD) frequency bands respectively), as well as Qualcomm Technologies’ latest Snapdragon X75 5G baseband-RF System test terminal.

This is an important milestone as it is the first time in the industry that 1024 QAM has been achieved in the FDD band. By using 20 MHz bandwidth, transmission speeds of 485 Mbps are achieved, achieving speeds close to the theoretical gain. This downlink speed is more than 20% higher than the upper limit of the speed currently achievable with 256 QAM.

Source @i ice universe recently tweeted on the X platform, in commenting on Samsung’s industry-first 10.7Gbps LPDDR5X DRAM content, said that next year’s launch of the Galaxy S25 base model phone is still 8GB of memory to start.

The memory of domestic Android phones has long been “rolled up” to start at 12GB, and has been continuously pushed up to 16GB, 24GB, etc. However, Samsung’s Galaxy S series still starts at 8GB, so it feels like “not making progress”, and many netizens also Joking about Samsung being “sanctioned”.

If, as the source reveals, next year’s Samsung Galaxy S25 basic model will continue to start with 8GB of memory, then even if it adopts higher specifications, its appeal to consumers will be greatly reduced.

On inquiring about public information, and the source also said today that Samsung plans to apply Google Gemini Nano Version 2 to the Galaxy S25 series.
