Samsung announced last month that it will provide One UI 6.1 update for Galaxy flagship models released in 2023. With less than a week left until April, Samsung needs to speed up update development to deliver on its promise.

It was noticed that last week Samsung Korea took the lead in revealing that the Galaxy S23 series will be updated on March 28. However, due to the faster push speed of previous .1 updates, the credibility of this news was once doubtful.

However, the notification pushed by Samsung China to users last weekend also gave the same update date. March 28 does seem to be the day when Galaxy S23, S23+, S23 Ultra and S23 FE users will get the One UI 6.1 update.

Samsung Korea also reconfirmed the date in a reply to a user question on a community forum and hinted that the Galaxy S23 FE will also get the update on March 28. In the past, Fan Edition models usually did not receive updates at the same time as non-FE versions, but One UI 6.1 may become a special case.

It is hoped that Samsung will also push updates for Galaxy Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Tab S9 on the 28th, but One UI 6.1 may not be available in all countries this month, and users in some areas may have to wait until April to get it. renew.

It was previously reported that Galaxy AI deeply integrates multiple capabilities of Baidu Wenxin large model, which can provide end-side enabled call and translation functions, as well as intelligent summarization, typesetting and other functions brought by generative AI. In addition, the Galaxy S24 series phones pioneered “circle and search”. According to foreign technology media XDA-Developers, the Nubia Red Magic 8S Pro phone released in early July this year uses the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy chip as the Samsung Galaxy S23 series.

When XDA-Developers evaluated the Red Devils 8S Pro phone, they found that the officially promoted second-generation Snapdragon 8 leading version (using TSMC’s 4nm process and a CPU clocked at 3.36GHz) was actually the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Samsung. Galaxy.

XDA-Developers then asked Qualcomm for confirmation, and Qualcomm officials have confirmed this.

Note: The normal version of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is modeled as “SM 8550-AB”, with a CPU clocked at 3.2GHz and a GPU clocked at 680MHz.

The “second-generation Snapdragon 8 Advanced Edition” on the Red Magic 8S Pro phone and the “Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy” on the Galaxy S23 series are actually “SM8550-AC”, with a CPU clocked at 3.36GHz, GPU clocked at 719MHz.

According to the usual practice in previous years, Samsung Galaxy S flagship series phones will launch three models, and this year is no exception.

According to blogger @iice universe, the screen size of the Samsung Galaxy S24+ phone is 6.65 inches. If the news is true, it means that the screen size of the Galaxy S24 + is very close to that of the previous generation Galaxy S23 + body, which has an official size of 6.6 inches.

Samsung usually regards the Plus model as a size upgrade version of the standard model, and the hardware configuration is often not much upgraded.

For example, the Galaxy S23 + phone launched earlier this year, which is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, is equipped with a 6.6-inch FHD + direct screen with a resolution of 2340×1080, a peak brightness of 1750 nits, and supports 48~120Hz adaptive refresh rate. Except for the increased screen size, the remaining screen parameters of the Galaxy S23 Plus are consistent with the standard version.

▲ Galaxy S23 series

The same is true for image parameters. The Galaxy S23+ and standard models are equipped with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a 50-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens, all of which support 3x optical zoom and 30x digital zoom.

The battery life configuration is one of the few differences between the two phones. The Galaxy S23+ has a battery capacity of 4700mAh and supports 45W fast charging. The standard model is 3900mAh and supports 25W fast charging.

▲ Samsung Galaxy S23 series

At present, there are still few revelations about the Galaxy S24 series. Whether Samsung can bring more upgrades to the Plus model is also a highlight of this new machine.

According to foreign media Sammobile reports, Samsung One UI 6 beta is expected to debut in the third week of this month, which means that the first beta update may be released at this time next week.

The report says that no details can be confirmed as the One UI 6 beta has not been officially released yet. However, judging by previous One UI beta releases, Samsung fans in China, India, Germany, Poland, South Korea, the UK, and the US are likely to be involved in testing One UI 6, with the first test model being the Samsung Galaxy S23 series.

South Korea and the US are likely to be the countries where the beta will debut, and Germany may also be included in the first wave of the push. Galaxy S23 series users in the other countries mentioned above may have to wait a few days or even weeks before they can take part in the new experience, so China-bound users will have to be patient for a while.

Samsung tipster @i ice universe recently revealed that Samsung One UI 6 will use widgets on the rest screen and lock screen, similar to Apple iOS. the current version of the One UI support custom lock screen time, shortcut buttons, and message notification content, but the scope of operation is limited, if you add the lock screen widgets and other functions, there is no doubt that it will bring more playability for the user.
