In April this year, AMD R7 5800X3D processor listed, with 100MB of super L2 + L3 cache, the country’s first 3099 yuan.

According to WccfTech, AMD’s upcoming Ryzen 7000 processor also has a 3D cache model, and some news about this processor has already flowed.

According to the news, the 3D cache model CPU cores of the Ryzen 7000 are 5nm process, but the 3D cache uses TSMC’s 7nm or 6nm process; the capacity is the same as the previous generation, still 64MB, but the technology has been upgraded to the second generation.

In addition, the CPU of the 3D cache model of the Ryzen 7000 will not be significantly lower in frequency like the R7 5800X3D, but its frequency will still be slightly lower than that of the regular model.

In terms of performance, the 3D cache model of the Ryzen 7000 is expected to deliver up to 30% performance improvement compared to the regular model with the same core count. By comparison, the older R7 5800X3D’s gaming performance can be improved by an average of 15% at high 1080P settings.

According to the news, the 3D cache models of the Ryzen 7000 will include the R7 7800X3D and possibly the R7 7950X3D, which is expected to be released at the end of this year and launched in the first half of next year.

The approximate parameters of AMD’s Razorback 7000 debut lineup have been revealed, which lacks the R7 7800X model, and AMD is expected to make it directly into the R7 7800X3D model.

R9 7950X: 16 cores, up to 5.7GHz, L2 + L3 cache 16+ 64MB, 170W TDP

R9 7900X: 12 cores, up to 5.6GHz, L2+L3 cache 12+ 64MB, 170W TDP

R7 7700X: 8 cores, up to 5.4GHz, L2+L3 cache 8+ 32MB, 105W TDP

R5 7600X: 6 cores, up to 5.3GHz, L2+L3 cache 6+ 32MB, 105W TDP

For members of the Beta Windows Insider program, Microsoft recently rolled out a new Windows 11 preview update that reintroduces the “Open As” dialog. This feature went live earlier this year, was removed in March, and is now back again.

Microsoft says users will theoretically feel smoother and more responsive when opening the modernized new menus due to the introduction of several important performance improvements.

Microsoft explains, “We’re starting to reintroduce an optimized ‘Open As’ dialog box that follows the design philosophy of Windows 11. The redesigned dialog box can be switched between light/dark themes. We’ve also simplified the experience by changing your default app in just 1 click. We’ve made a number of performance improvements based on feedback from Windows Insiders since the temporary rollout in March of this year.

Apple has officially released macOS Monterey 12.5, adding performance improvements and possibly updated security features to previous beta versions. The new macOS Monterey 12.5 has been in developer beta since May 18, 2022, and has undergone five revisions since then.

Apple has not released a new release note for that fifth beta, which means that macOS Monterey 12.5 is a minor update overall. macOS Monterey is likely to see major updates as well – there is a release specifically for Macs running with M2 processors. At this stage, however, it is more likely that visible improvements will be reserved for the upcoming release of macOS Ventura.

For now, macOS Monterey 12.5 is the official public version of the operating system that will come pre-installed on new Macs and existing users will be prompted to update, but it usually takes some time before the new version is rolled out to all users.

The build number for macOS Monterey version 12.5 is 21G72, which is the same as the build for the second release candidate.

Apple has also released macOS Big Sur 11.6.8 to the public for older machines that cannot be updated to macOS Monterey. This is an update focused on providing patches for several known potential security issues.

Users should exercise caution when installing operating system updates on critical hardware. Despite being a smaller release, some bugs may still cause problems and will be reported within the first few days of release.
