In terms of algorithm, OPPO Reno9 series is upgraded to a new “dual-core portrait computing engine”, the upgraded algorithm puts the most critical light and shadow, color and detail of a photo into the RAW domain.

OPPO says the Reno9 series’ dual-core portrait computing engine, which performs color calculations in the RAW domain, boosts accuracy from 10bit to 17bit, a 128-fold improvement. “Photos taken with the Dual Core Portrait Computing Engine have more vivid and transparent colors, and the skin tone of the human face remains fair.” At the same time, the dual-core portrait computing engine can do 9 frames of synthetic noise reduction. The OPPO Reno9 series is also equipped with OPPO’s own imaging NPU chip, MariSilicon X. The OPPO Reno9 series has already been announced on the reservation page. The new machine is available in three colorways: Tomorrow Gold, White Moon Black and Microbrew, and focuses on thinness and longevity, with a thinness of about 7.19mm, a lightness of about 174g, a large built-in battery of 4500mAh, and a symmetrical 3D design with a double curved surface.

The rear camera features a new cosmic star ring design that includes Polaris lens decoration and a starry top luminous design.

If the leaks hold true, it seems that even the standard Reno 9 will have a curved display. However, according to the renders, it may not include OPPO’s custom MariSilicon imaging NPU, as there’s no relevant text on the camera module of one of the phones.

Another more easily noticeable subtlety might be that the Reno9 Pro Plus has a larger camera module with an extra camera, and the overall isn’t flush with the rest of the phone’s body. This render matches very well with the real Reno 9 photos that leaked last month.

There are also some specifications that have appeared in the rumors, although we can’t necessarily say which model of Reno 9 these might relate to. Speculation has it that a Reno 9 called vanilla (vanilla version) includes a 6.7-inch OLED with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1080p resolution, includes an under-screen fingerprint reader, and features a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B primary camera on the rear of the body and a 32-megapixel Sony IMX709 front camera. The Reno9 will reportedly feature a Snapdragon 778G chipset paired with 12GB of RAM and a 4,500 mAh battery that is compatible with 67W fast charging.

As for the Reno9 Pro Plus, current leaks suggest it will feature a MediaTek Dimensity 8000 chipset and a 50-megapixel Sony IMX 766 primary camera sensor.

Today, digital blogger @DigitalChat has revealed that the OPPO Reno9 series will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC and 64MP main camera, while the Pro is expected to come with a MediaTek Dimensity 8000 chipset and a 50MP Sony IMX 766 main camera.

The Snapdragon 7 Gen1 was released in May this year, with a core architecture consisting of one 2.4GHz A710 super core, three 2.36GHz A710 large cores, and four 1.8GHz A510 small cores, using Samsung’s 4nm process.

However, as of now, the only two processors using Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 are the OPPO Reno8 Pro and the Xiaomi Civi 2. If the OPPO Reno9 series is also dropped, then Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 shipments are a real concern.

The OPPO Reno9 series will support fusion fast charging technology, have a built-in 4500mAh battery, and come in a new “Marvelous Red” colorway, according to previous reports. The newest addition to the lineup is the Reno9, which is expected to be certified by OPPO, and the first of 11 fast-charging certificates have been released by the China Communications Standards Association.
