Nokia recently announced that Telekom Serbia and MTEL have successfully tested 600Gbit/s line rates on a 600+ km optical transport network between Banja Luka and Belgrade. 400GE service transmissions.

In addition to remote connectivity between cities, Telekom Serbia will deploy the 1830 PSS family of devices (PSS-16 and PSS-8x) in two new regional rings to provide a next-generation, scalable network based on Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM), thereby meeting the needs of residential and commercial customers.

In this live network test between Telekom Serbia and MTEL, Nokia demonstrated 600 Gbit/s line performance over a 600 km path consisting of 6 span segments via the C-F ROADM node. By achieving highly spectrally efficient operation over 100 GHz WDM channels, Telekom Serbia and MTEL will be able to maximize network capacity, performance, and operational efficiency while reducing the total cost of ownership of the network.
