Before writing the July performance list, I went to take a look at the content of our cell phone review channel, just in July, we produced 7 cell phone reviews, 1-month release 7 new machines, on average, one every 4.4 days. Although everyone’s desire to change cell phones was forced to reduce, but the speed of manufacturers to send new machines has not shrunk in the slightest, Snapdragon 8 + processor, Tiangui 9000 +, 1-inch outsole, 200W fast charging, ultra-narrow bezel, these words are stimulating the development of the cell phone market, but also let users see the new height of domestic cell phones on the inside volume.

At present, there is only Xiaomi 12 Pro Tiangui Edition, a new machine with Tiangui 9000+ processor released in the market, so in this performance list, Snapdragon 8+ formed a completely dominant situation, looking back to the June list, the performance list is still almost all Snapdragon 8 phones, in an instant, there is a sea change again.

We look at the specific models and ranking situations. Note: The data for this list was collected from July 1 to July 31, 2022, and the scores that appear in the list are average run scores, not the highest run scores.

First place: Red Devil 7S game phone

Average runtime score: 1124622

The front of the Red Devil 7S has a 6.8-inch AMOLED full-screen without holes, supporting a maximum refresh rate of 165Hz, and also supports 60, 90, 120, and 165Hz multi-grade adjustment, as a game phone, having a completely flawless screen is of course the optimal experience, not to mention that it also has a super high refresh rate of 165Hz.

The processor is naturally a new generation of Snapdragon 8+, the game phone well, the processor does not get the latest and greatest are embarrassed to release.

The battery capacity of the machine is 4500mAh, supports 120W air-cooled speed fast charging, 17 minutes to fill, can also play while charging, charging head standard is 165W, compatible with a variety of modes, to do a head to go to the world.

Another point to mention is that the Red Devil 7S, a Snapdragon 8+ phone, is also equipped with an extremely advanced 3.5mm headphone jack, which is really one of the few configurations available today.

Second place: iQOO 10 Pro

Average runtime score: 111,885

After 7 months, iQOO finally brought the tail suffix to double-digit iQOO 10 series models, as the top iQOO 10 Pro, this time in addition to the configuration of Snapdragon 8 +, but also a step to the phone equipped with an unprecedented 200W fast charging.

After our actual test, the machine can be done in a specific environment in the first 10 minutes full, the ordinary environment, then about 12 minutes can also be completed 0-100% of the charge, although compared to some 120W fast charging phone is just a few minutes faster, but this for the area has reached the marginal effect of fast charging, is really very difficult.

This also represents the future of cell phones wired fast charging, should also be to 200W and 10 minutes of such a number.

In addition to the most iconic 200W fast charging, iQOO 10 Pro this time the body also uses a spliced processor, and the image also joined the Vivo self-research V1 + chip, all aspects of the configuration is also called the top.

Third place: Tencent ROG game phone 6

Average runtime score: 1107982

Tencent ROG game phone as the oldest game phone pioneer, in terms of performance, has always been the benchmark, but then still can not stand the crazy pile of domestic cell phones, the total and score scores can only hover in the top three, but also considered to retain the decency of ROG.

Tencent ROG game phone 6 is the second Snapdragon 8 + phone this year, the front of the 6.78-inch Samsung E4 AMOLED gaming screen, has support for 165Hz refresh rate, the default 120Hz for daily use, touch sampling rate upgraded to 720Hz, the full-link touch response time of 23ms, and joined the HDR10 certification, look at the parameters and the previous generation is basically the same, there should be no The upgrade.

The back of the body has a new design style, the continuation of the ROG dazzling personality window, while having the ROG logo faith light effect, the overall recognition is definitely there, the camera module looks more fitting back style, full of gaming elements, in addition to ultrasonic shoulder keys are retained, when playing games can be set to the shoulder keys as a specific button on the screen, to achieve multi-finger operation, is also one of the unique advantages of the game phone.

The flagship ranking of the top ten products, Xiaomi 12 Pro Tiangui version as the only one in the market today Tiangui 9000 + models, with 1022207 runtime score ranked tenth to keep their decent, look forward to the subsequent Tiangui 9000 + models can have a better performance it.

The sub-flagship list is still led by MediaTek, in addition to the last two cell phones, ranked in the top eight of the Tiangui 8100 cell phone, and even a model of Tiangui 8000, MediaTek this year in the sub-flagship market share really win a lot.

First place: One Plus Ace

Average runtime score: 833562

As a product of One Plus, it is actually acceptable to launch any price range model now, after all, the whole company’s wind has changed, and this time the One Plus Ace, is given high hopes by One Plus.

The machine is equipped with the Tiangui 8100-Max processor, positioning the performance ace with a face and material, the meaning is obvious, appearance and performance I all want.

The front of the machine uses a 6.7-inch flexible OLED screen, diamond-like arrangement, the resolution is 1080 * 2412, 394PPI, support 60/90/120Hz refresh rate, and 720Hz touch sampling rate, instantaneous 1000Hz touch, parameters, this screen belongs to the mainstream level.

The design of the phone’s rear shell is a very characteristic place this time a plus Ace, using a new electric light waterfall process, with a light matte gradient effect, the camera area for the edge of the 3D processing, the back cover lines of texture is not the same depth, there is a change from deep to shallow, rich layers, while a frosted texture, not easy to stain fingerprints, as to whether it looks good, it is a matter of opinion.

Second place: OPPO Reno8 Pro+ 5G

Average runtime score: 830815

OPPO Reno8 Pro+ 5G actually has a lot of similarities with One Plus Ace, such as the same Tiangui 8100-Max processor, the same rear lens parameters, the same 83W+ runtime score, which is understandable, after all, as the same company’s products, the machine’s appearance modified, you can as two completely different positioning of the product, and OPPO’s sales online The two won’t fight either.

The focus of OPPO Reno8 Pro+ 5G is still on the appearance, and the subsequent launch of the Iris purple color scheme is to bring the face of the whole machine to a new height.

Third place: Redmi K50

Average runtime score: 810706

As Redmi’s veteran warrior, K50 has been very hot in the market, the front of the machine is a 6.67-inch Samsung AMOLED flexible straight screen, the resolution of 3200 × 1440, is a rare 2K high score screen in the same price range.

The processor is the Tiangui 8100 and is coupled with LPDDR5 memory and UFS 3.1 flash memory, a 48-megapixel main camera on the rear, and a 5500mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging.

Finally, the ranking of mid-range cell phones, the new Snapdragon 7Gen1 has been released, but it seems that the market recognition is not high, there is only OPPO Reno8 Pro this phone equipped, and Snapdragon seems to have little move, it seems that this year’s mid-range machine market, Qualcomm is really ready to completely swing.

The specific ranking, the top three machines were iQOO Z5, OPPO Reno8 Pro and Glory 70, with comprehensive scores of 576564, 569421, 537011, respectively.

In addition to June ranked fourth in the glory of 70 forward a step into the top three, other products and the ranking situation is combined with no change in June, as if the domestic cell phone brands for the mid-range market attention is not high, the reason may be or Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 series really can not raise, after all, directly take the previous generation or the previous generation of flagship processors down to the mid-range experience, is far superior to the use of a Snapdragon 7 series processor. The company’s tuning for the old flagship processor is also familiar, directly on the hand, and how to get a new processor than alone to get much faster, but also more practical and effective.

The second-ranked OPPO Reno8 Pro is the only phone on the market with Snapdragon 7 Gen1, which is built with a 4nm process and upgraded CPU architecture, consisting of a 2.4GHz A710 mega-core + three 2.36GHz A710 mega-core + four 1.8GHz A510 small-core, with an integrated Adreno662 GPU. The GPU graphics rendering speed is improved by 20% compared to Snapdragon 778G.

The above is all the content of AnTuTu’s Android cell phone performance list in July, the seven new Snapdragon 8+ in July directly kicked off a new round of flagship cell phone war in the second half of the year, but note that this only represents the beginning, because the new machines already known in August alone are a plus Ace Pro, moto X30 Pro, K50S series and other products, each round of updates will be a new king on the scene. There will be a new king on the scene, so let’s look forward to the August list together.

200W fast charging raises questions regarding charging speeds in the smartphone industry https://www.techgoing.com/200w-fast-charging-raises-questions-regarding-charging-speeds-in-the-smartphone-industry/ Tue, 19 Jul 2022 15:44:49 +0000 https://www.techgoing.com/?p=9167 The just launched iQOO 10 Pro with 200W fast charging ability raises questions as to what charging improvements we should expect in future.

At MWC22, OPPO brought to the stage a groundbreaking improvement which iQOO has imitated with 200W fast charging on their new device. This charging technology from OPPO (240W SuperVOOC charge) is the fastest that is attainable in the smartphone industry now. For safety reasons, the company uses what it calls a “Battery Health Engine” to help curb degradation as a result of the charging speed.

Some other companies have made series of improvements to their charging technologies. The aim is simply to help users get a full charge in less time. But, OPPO has set the bar above what the industry previously held as the fastest charging speed for a smartphone. It’s been over four months since this charging technology from OPPO came into existence, but it is just reaching the hands of users.

Ultimately, we knew that OPPO or one of its sister companies will launch with this technology. Now, we are seeing iQOO with something close to what OPPO debuted. The new iQOO 10 series uses 200W fast charging, whereas OPPO showcased 240W fast charge at MWC22. Just 40W apart from each other, this means that it won’t be long before we see the actual 240W behemoth on an actual device.

The improvement in charging technology and overall charging speed leads us to wonder what is next. According to OPPO, their 240W fast charger can take a typical, 4500mAh battery to 100% in just 9 minutes. The iQOO 10 Pro offers a 200W fast charge which will fully charge the 4700mAh battery in 10 minutes.

These charging figures are impressive as they ensure a full battery in no time. A feature that is useful in regions without a steady supply of electricity. But, most companies like Apple and Samsung have not made any significant improvements to their charging speeds. Despite the industry’s improvement on charging speeds across different brands.

What is next (regarding charging technology) will remain the question on the minds of most people today. How fast will the next charging speed be? Will the industry pause improving on wired charging speeds and turn their attention to wireless charging speeds? These questions will continue puzzling our minds until we see a new charging innovation come to the industry.

iQOO is preparing to release the iQOO 9T 5G smartphone in India. The device is just around the corner and is about to make its official debut in the country. The brand has begun teasing the device on its social media handles, and the device’s landing page is now live on Amazon India. Amazon India also reveals some of the device’s key specifications.

iQOO 9T 5G India launch confirmed

Amazon India has made the dedicated landing page for the forthcoming iQOO 91 5G live. Even though the page doesn’t reveal the exact launch date of the device, it has confirmed the Indian debut of the device. Because there is no sense of teasing and creating hype for the device if it’s not going to launch in the country itself.

The e-commerce site reveals the device’s rear design in the BMW legendary device which looks exactly the same as previously leaked renders. The BMW Motorsport-inspired design with three colour stripes running off-centre down the white back panel can be seen, we have seen this type of design in the iQOO 7 Legend. The brand has coloured the power button in a blue shade to make it stand out. The teaser further reveals the triple rear camera setup of the device with the “20X” zoom feature highlighted on the module.

The e-commerce site further confirms the presence of the Vivo V1+ Imaging chip in the smartphone. The device looks much similar to the iQOO 10 lineup, which is going to debut in China on July 19th, 2022. It could very well be the rebranded version of iQOO 10, but we are still unsure about it as we don’t have any leaks or official information on this.

The device is expected to be released in India soon after the iQOO 10 series debuts in China. The launch will most likely take place near the end of the month, or in the first week of August. Because the landing page is now live, the brand may soon reveal the launch date.

Now a phone with the model number Vivo V2218A has appeared on Geekbench with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, 12G of internal memory, and running Android 12.

The phone’s motherboard information shows “taro”, the codename for Qualcomm’s latest platform, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip with a peak CPU frequency of 3.19 GHz. On Geekbench version 4.4, the iQOO 10 Pro phone scores 7374 for single-core performance and 17142 for multi-core.

The score data looks pretty strong, but I wonder how the new machine’s heat dissipation is, and whether it can drain the Snapdragon 8+?

Just after a few days, the iQOO 10 series of smartphones will launch officially in China. The launch date is officially confirmed for July 19th, 2022. The series will include the vanilla iQOO 10 and high-end iQOO 10 Pro smartphone. The iQOO 10 Pro has previously been confirmed to feature a 200W fast-wired charging. Now, the device has been listed on the Geekbench certification.

iQOO 10 Pro listed on Geekbench

A Vivo smartphone with model number V2218A has been spotted on the Geekbench certification. It is reportedly no other than the upcoming iQOO 10 Pro. The smartphone also has the motherboard listed as “taro”. It has been worth mentioning that the “taro” is also the codename for Qualcomm’s latest platform and the 3.19Ghz peak frequency of the CPU confirms that it is none other than Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1.

iQOO 10 Pro
iQOO 10 Pro – Geekbench

The device received a single-core score of 7,374 and a multi-core score of 17,142, according to the listing. But there’s a catch: whoever ran the Geekbench used Geekbench 4.0 rather than the most recent version, so we can’t really compare it to other devices or the iQOO 9 Pro itself. The score varies depending on the version because the testing method changes with each update. As a result, we can take the scores with a pinch of salt.

The listing further confirms that the device will boot up on Android 12 out of the box and there will be at least one variant with 12GB of RAM. Apart from this, the certification doesn’t throw much light on the specifications of the device. The iQOO 10 Pro is expected to feature a 120Hz Super AMOLED panel with curved edges and 2K QHD+ resolution. It is also said that it will have a triple rear camera setup with a 50-megapixels primary camera followed up by a secondary ultrawide and a tertiary telephoto lens.

The newly shared renders don’t look much different from what we had seen previously. According to the new renders, the device will have a dual-textured finish at the back panel. The upper portion of the panel, which houses the camera bump has a glossy finish while the lower portion has a matte finish. The glossy finish also contains some carbon fibre kind of texture.

A huge camera bump, which includes three different sensors along with the LED light is located in the glossy portion of the rear panel. The three camera sensors are tipped to be a main wide, secondary ultrawide and a tertiary telephoto lens respectively. The charging port, speaker grille and SIM slot are located on the bottom frame of the device.

The upper portion of the panel on the BMW Edition remains unchanged, with the same texture and finish. The rest of the panel has BMW stripes running down it as well as the iQOO branding. The back is made of silicon leather. From the front, we can see a curved display with minimal bezels and a punch-hole selfie camera cutout in the centre.
