Recently, Sony announced that the PS5 host in some markets price increase, of which, the price of the national area rose 400 yuan, after the price increase, the optical drive version of the official price of 4299 yuan, digital version of 3499 yuan. In response, Microsoft made a clear response early this morning, saying that it will not raise the price of Xbox, and regardless of how the currency price changes, the suggested retail price will not change. And Nintendo also in an interview with the media today, reiterated its position that it will not raise prices.

In the statement, Nintendo said that, as previously stated at the 82nd Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, although some countries are currently experiencing inflation or rising purchasing costs, Nintendo has no intention of raising hardware prices and will continue to prudently determine its future pricing strategy.

Meanwhile, while the final consumer arrival price is determined by the retailer, there is absolutely no intention, at least on Nintendo’s part, to raise the transaction price of the hardware.

This statement was made public, meaning that Sony became the only manufacturer in the game console “Royal Family” that chose to raise the price, which will certainly have an impact on the sales of PS5.

Sony has announced a worldwide increase in the price of its PlayStation 5 console, with a price increase of 400 yuan in its Chinese line — except for the United States. In Europe, the console’s price has risen by a whopping 50 euros (about 341.5 yuan). The price change applies to both the digital and Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc drive versions. The move led many buyers to fear that the Xbox console would soon increase in price as well, but those people can now breathe a sigh of relief.

According to Windows Central, a statement released by Microsoft has confirmed that there are no plans to raise the price of the Xbox and that its suggested retail price will remain the same regardless of the currency straight.

"We are constantly evaluating the business to provide our fans with great gaming options. the Xbox Series S MSRP remains at $299 (£250, €300) and the Xbox Series X at $499 (£450, €500)."

It is important to note that Microsoft says it has no plans to increase prices at this time, but that does not mean that prices will not increase in the future. This is likely to be a short-term guarantee.

Sony said the difficult decision was made in response to “the current global economic environment and its impact on the SIE business”. The company cited high global inflation and unfavorable currency trends as the reasons behind the move, but stressed that it will continue to address supply chain issues so that more gamers have access to its latest consoles.

August 18, Wedbush Securities analyst Dan Ives recently said that the price of the iPhone 14 Pro series models “could” go up by $100 compared to the iPhone 13 Pro models.

Dan Ives further stated in a study, “While the standard iPhone price will remain the same, we think the iPhone 14 Pro / Pro Max price could go up $100 due to higher component prices and the new features added to this version.”

Last week, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that iPhone 14 Pro models will “increase in price,” suggesting that they will be more expensive than iPhone 13 Pro models. Kuo didn’t reveal exact pricing, but he did say that the entire iPhone 14 lineup, including the standard model, will cost about 15 percent more on average overall.

In the U.S., the iPhone 13 Pro starts at $999 and the iPhone 13 Pro Max starts at $1099. Dan Ives said the price increase is due in part to higher component prices and the addition of new features/functionality.

The iPhone 14 Pro model has a new “pill + single punch” screen to replace the bangs notch screen, a faster A16 chip, faster memory, an upgraded 48-megapixel rear camera, support for 8K video recording, and an AOD screen display that shows the time and date. New lock screen widget and new status bar battery percentage icon for iOS 16.

The iPhone 14 Pro could start with 256GB of storage, which could help soften the blow of higher prices, but one analyst thinks a 128GB start is still a possibility.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple plans to hold its first fall launch event on Wednesday, Sept. 7 (expected early Sept. 8 BST). The event will focus on the launch of the iPhone 14 series models and the Apple Watch Series 8.

Facebook parent company Meta has reportedly raised the price of its Quest 2 virtual reality headset, which makes the ticket into the metaverse slightly more expensive. Meta attributed the price increase to rising production costs. Since August this year, the Meta Quest 2 headset is priced at $400 for the 128GB version and $500 for the 256GB version, both up about $100. Meta is also reported to have raised the price of accessories and refurbished devices.

Meta’s augmented and virtual reality division, Reality Labs, has become a top priority in the company’s business shift to the metaverse. The division reported an operating loss of $10.2 billion in 2021. CEO Mark Zuckerberg said investments in virtual reality and augmented reality will result in “significant” losses early on.

These losses become more apparent when considering the impact of the broader economic slowdown. Meta has been forced to cut costs, including staff hiring, in response to record U.S. inflation and supply chain constraints under the epidemic. These challenges impacted Meta’s largest source of revenue – online advertising spending.
