The new Huawei 4G phone with the model number STG-AL00 has been approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and has been released with a photo ID.

The new model has a round Oreo camera on the rear, a front camera on the right side of the earpiece, and a separate physical button on the left side of the body, which is not yet known.

It is not clear what information is available about this new machine.

The new phone will be launched in the spring on March 23, and the news is that Huawei will also hold a launch event next month, which will bring Huawei Enjoy 60 phone one time.

However, the new phone that just entered the network is obviously not the Huawei Enjoy 60, because microblogger @SeeMountainUncle broke the news that the Enjoy 60 will adopt the dual-ring camera design language of the nova series.

The new machine is the closest to the Huawei Mate 50 Pro, but this new machine does not look high-end, and the Mate 50 series has also been launched Mate 50E.

DXOMARK announced the screen score of the Huawei Mate 50 Pro this evening. The Huawei Mate 50 Pro screen test score totaled 141 points, ranking sixth in the DXOMARK screen ranking.

DXOMARK says that the Huawei Mate 50 Pro’s screen provides an excellent overall experience for users. Excellent color fidelity earned the device the highest score in the color sub-category, making browsing images a pleasant experience, both indoors and outdoors and in low-light conditions. At the same time, the device’s screen is flicker-free, which makes it comfortable for the eyes to view the screen.

In addition, DXOMARK says the device falls short in that the Huawei Mate 50 Pro’s screen is not bright enough in outdoor sunlight compared to others in its class, and readability can suffer. When viewing HDR10 video content, the lack of detail in the darkest tones and multiple but imperceptible frame drops can diminish the experience.

The Huawei Mate 50 Pro features a 6.74-inch screen that supports 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, 1440Hz PWM dimming, and a 1.07 billion primary colors display with 3D face payment and in-screen fingerprint.

Huawei pushed out the HarmonyOS 3.0.0.156 update for Mate 50 Pro users early this morning.

Huawei said that this update adds the unlock feature of wearing a mask. It supports unlocking the phone and using the phone to make payments while wearing a mask, and users are recommended to update to experience it. Currently, Huawei Mate 50 Pro users can choose whether to enable mask recognition, connect a trusted device for unlocking, and look at the screen for recognition in the face recognition settings.

Face recognition is most accurate when the face is unobstructed. When Mate 50 Pro users turn on “Wear mask recognition”, the device will authenticate by eye features, requiring them to look at the screen during recognition.

In addition, the Huawei Mate 50 Pro supports the entry of glasses or make-up for mask recognition. Users can record eye features with different glasses or make-up as an alternative face for mask recognition.

In the Mate 50 Pro’s bangs, Huawei has placed a 13MP front-facing camera (F2.4 aperture), a gesture sensor, a 3D ToF depth-sensing camera, an ambient light sensor and a speaker. This is also the hardware basis for the Mate 50 Pro’s support for mouthpiece unlock.

The Huawei Mate 50 series was just launched in September this year and consists of four models: Mate 50E, Mate 50, Mate 50 Pro and Mate 50 RS Porsche Design.

Huawei Mate 50 Pro features a notch display and a front-facing 3D depth-sensing camera with high accuracy in face recognition. It’s not clear how well it works with the mask on, so you can wait for the wide push of HarmonyOS 3.0.0.150 to experience it.

The Huawei Mate 50 Pro has a notch display, supports Huawei’s own XMAGE imaging technology and features a 50MP main camera with variable aperture. In addition, Huawei has used Kunlun glass on the 6.74-inch OLED, the first in the industry to receive the Swiss SGS 5-star drop resistance certification, and the entire device is up to 10 times more resistant to drops and falls than ordinary glass.

Huawei Mate 50 series has officially opened for sale, “sold out in seconds”, “scalpers increase the price”, in the first sale process, no doubt reproduces the “a machine hard to find” situation. A few days ago, the blogger “Bo review” took the lead in disassembling the Huawei Mate 50 Pro, allowing us to take a peek inside the Mate 50 Pro.

Similar to disassembling other smartphones, starting from the back of the Mate 50 Pro body, the back panel can be opened after heating, and after comparing it with the Mate 40 Pro, it can be found that the internal layout of the two phones is basically the same, only the camera position is different.

Left: Mate 40 Pro Right: Mate 50 Pro

Remove the motherboard, you can see that the motherboard is a double-layer design, all components and chips are covered by a metal cover, after removing the shield you can see the Snapdragon 8+ chip and memory chips.

Motherboard double-layer design

After further disassembly, you can see that the Mate 50 Pro motherboard PCB reserved for the location of the 5G RF chip, next to the filter capacitor resistor is not out of material, according to this can be guessed, the Mate 50 Pro is perhaps designed for 5G cell phones, in addition, the location of the reserved 5G chip may also be for the follow-up “Dingqiao version, In addition, the location of the reserved 5G chip may also be for the subsequent “Dingqiao version” to prepare.

5G RF chip location

It is understood that, in addition to the Mate 50E for Snapdragon 778G 4G processor, the Mate 50 series of other models are using the 4G version of Snapdragon 8 +, due to well-known reasons, Huawei has become one of the very few manufacturers who also released a 4G flagship phone in 2022, but this does not affect in any way the attention of consumers to this phone.

From the first sale of the Mate 50 shared by Yu Chengdong, the day of first sale, Huawei offline stores across the country had a large number of consumers waiting in long lines at the entrance to buy the new machine.
