Fitbit has experienced a sync glitch today, causing statistics to be lost and preventing users from logging into their accounts. Pixel Watch users are also unable to log in to Fitbit to sync their sleep and resting heart rates.

In terms of statistics, the data is grayed out after opening the mobile app, which includes steps, distance, activity time, heart rate, calories and more. During this downtime, as long as you do not reset the Fitbit device, these health and fitness data should not be lost, you can wait for the system to recover and resync again.

The DownDetector website shows the Fitbit website starting at 12:30 p.m. PT and the problem persists at 3:30 p.m. PT.

Updates to some core Wear OS apps are in the works ahead of Google’s hardware launch, which means expect to see them on the Pixel Watch: the Phone, Fitbit and Weather apps are all being updated ahead of the new wearable’s launch event.

The Wear OS 3 smartwatch ushers in a new weather app that is very simple and only shows the weather at the wearer’s current location. It will show weather information from weather.com, UV index, precipitation, and forecasts for the next 8 hours and the next 5 days.

Google’s Phone app has also been added to the Wear OS Play Store to make updates to the app easier and more frequent. the Phone app on Wear OS makes phone calls possible, either through Bluetooth or through LTE-connected smartwatches on a standalone basis. The Phone app UI has larger icons and larger text for better visibility of the caller’s name.

Finally, the Fitbit app for Android has been updated with a new user interface. There are now three main tabs available: Discover, Today, and Community, and the “Advanced” tab from the previous version has been removed. the Play Store listing also includes some screenshots of Wear OS.

Last month, it was announced that the Fitbit app will require a Google account to be available starting next year.
