The report predicts that global OLED display panel shipments will grow from 160,000 units in 2022 to 800,000 units this year, and will reach 1.74 million units in 2024, a more than 10-fold surge in two years. Omdia also predicts that global OLED display panel shipments will reach 2.3 million units in 2025, and 277,000 units in 2026.

According to the report, the rapid growth of OLED display panels is due to the rising demand for gaming displays. OLED panels offer sharper, fuller image quality and faster response times than traditional LCD panels.

TrendForce has announced that gaming monitor shipments in 2022 will face a decline for the first time since 2016, reaching only 19.8 million units, a 13% annual decrease. Tiburon expects 20.8 million gaming monitors to be shipped in 2023, an annual increase of 5%, with the following factors driving growth:

The 100Hz models adopted by some brands to replace the original 75Hz class gaming products;

Hangzhou Asian Games will be held in the third quarter of 2023, and e-sports will be one of the events;

The demand for Internet cafes is gradually recovering after the epidemic.

It is learned from the article that in 2022, gaming monitors still have the highest market share of 51% for VA liquid crystal products, followed by IPS liquid crystal products with a market share of 43.4%, and TN liquid crystal products with a market share of only about 5%.

From the refresh rate of gaming products, the highest market share in 2022 is 51.9% for 165-180Hz, followed by 32.5% for 120-160Hz, 11.7% for 200Hz, and only 3.9% for 100Hz. The market share of 165-180Hz and 100Hz products will increase more significantly in 2023, and the market share of 120-160Hz products will continue to be eroded by 165-180Hz because the price difference between 165-180Hz and 120-160Hz products is not large.
