V society in today’s official online Counter-Strike 2 game. NVIDIA also synchronized the release of each RTX 40 series graphics card running the game’s frame rate and latency performance.

According to reports, CS2 brings huge technical upgrades compared to its predecessor, improving graphical fidelity and generating more realistic textures and materials, dynamic lighting, reflections, and other effects based on physical rendering. The new game has also been upgraded with stunningly reconstructed maps, in addition to smoke grenades that are dynamic, interacting with the environment and reacting to lights, gunfire and explosions. Bullets and HE grenades can propel smoke to briefly clear the line of sight or expand cover. Smoke naturally expands and fills the space.

As you can see above, the RTX 4060 can perform at 1080p 215fps while the RTX 4090 can reach 1080p 543fps. NVIDIA says the RTX 4090 is 4.5x faster than the GTX 1080, which was the flagship GPU of the year, and 2.9x faster than the RTX 2080 in demanding maps.

CS2 supports NVIDIA Reflex, a technology that reduces latency by optimizing the rendering pipeline on the CPU and GPU, synchronizing the steps of the rendering pipeline to eliminate lag. Reflex is most effective when the system is GPU-limited (or when GPU utilization is high), as it prevents the CPU from outpacing the GPU, which would otherwise cause increased latency due to buildup in the render queue. latency as low as 15ms can be achieved with the RTX 4060, and as low as 5ms with the RTX 4090.

New CS2 features:

  • New CS Composite Score and Updated Prioritization Mode
  • Global and regional leaderboards
  • Updated and overhauled maps
  • Revolutionary dynamic smoke grenades
  • Unhindered gaming experience regardless of refresh rate
  • Newly designed sound and graphics
  • All items from CS: GO migrated to CS2

CS: GO” last Major tournament was held in France from May 8 to May 21, Vitality team with a 2-0 victory over GL, with the entire tournament did not lose a map for the first time to win the Paris Major Championship!

A new version of CS2 will be used for the Major, with the inaugural event scheduled to take place in Copenhagen in March 2024, and HLTV cites a “reliable source” as saying that Valve plans to hold the second Major in Shanghai in 2024, under the auspices of Perfect World and PGL.

The tournament’s RMR qualifiers are reportedly scheduled to take place from 26 October to 13 November, with the Major taking place two weeks later, from 1 to 15 December.

The dates coincide with Valve’s recently launched call for proposals for four Major tournaments from 2025-2026, and Valve has previously revealed that the Majors have been moved to mid-June and early December of each season.

If the Major is indeed held in Shanghai, it will be the first Major to be held in Asia.

In fact, it was previously announced that Valve was considering hosting a second Major in Asia in China and Singapore in 2023, but the plan was eventually canceled due to the launch of CS2.

The PGL is also responsible for organizing the first Major tournament in 2024, which will also be the first Major tournament for CS2.

According to the PGL’s arrangement, the RMR will continue the tradition of being divided into three zones: Asia, America and Europe, with Europe starting the earliest, followed by Asia, while the Americas will be held from 1 to 4 March. The host cities have yet to be announced.

The main event will take place on 17 March and will be divided into three stages: Challenger, Legends and Champions. In addition, the venue for the Major Championship has also been finalized – the Royal Arena in Copenhagen, which has hosted many of the top tournaments in the past. The total prize pool will remain unchanged at $1.25 million.

According to NVIDIA news, NVIDIA and Valve are cooperation, for “Counter-Strike 2” to introduce NVIDIA Reflex support, to ensure that the latency to the lowest level, reducing up to 35% of the system latency.

As shown above, with the support of NVIDIA Reflex technology, “Counter-Strike 2” on the GTX 1060 latency from 26ms down to 17ms, on the RTX 3060 latency from 16ms down to 11ms, on the RTX 4070 graphics card latency from 10ms down to 8ms. It is worth mentioning that Nvidia announced here in advance the upcoming RTX 4070 graphics card.

Not long ago, Valve officially announced the “Counter-Strike” series of a canonical new sequel – “Counter-Strike 2”, the new work using the Origin 2 engine development, will be officially launched this summer, “CS: GO” players can get a free upgrade, and will be used as a free alternative to CS: GO. The new game has changed to the smoke system, lighting, water and particle effects will also change, and the visual effects of accessories and UI will also see optimization. The most important thing is that V has introduced a mechanism called “sub refresh rate” to significantly improve the game experience.

Valve today officially announced the new sequel to the Counter-Strike series – Counter-Strike 2. The new game, developed using the Origin 2 (Source2) engine, will be officially launched this summer, with free upgrades for CS:GO players and will serve as a free alternative to CS:GO.

Valve said it is starting a closed limited beta for CS2 today, which it described as “a complete overhaul of every system, every piece of content, and every part of the CS experience. According to the report, the number of spots will gradually increase during the closed beta, mainly related to the recent official server play time, reputation score, account length, etc.

All in all, the new work has made changes to the smoke system, lighting, water, particle effects, etc. will also be changed, and the visual effects and UI of accessories will also be optimized. Most importantly, Valve agency introduced a mechanism called “sub-refresh rate” for it, which greatly improves the game experience.

(Note: “Sub-refresh rate” is the server’s refresh technology, which avoids the delay between the server tick and the player’s operation by subdividing the tick. This technology has nothing to do with the refresh rate of the player’s display device)

Valve Agency took the lead in introducing three new features of this work: Sub-tick delay compensation system, brand new dynamic smoke system, and upgraded, modified, and remade maps. The player’s CS:GO inventory will be synced into Counter-Strike 2. All trinkets will be compatible with Source 2 lighting and textures.

"open this summer
COUNTER-STRIKE
The Next Era of Counter-Strike 2 presents the biggest technological leap in Counter-Strike history, with years of new features and updates guaranteed.

When the game is officially announced this summer, all the new features of the game will be announced one by one. And the road to Counter-Strike 2 begins today with the CS2 Limited Beta. During this beta, we'll be evaluating new CS2 features and hoping to refine them before the global release.

This summer, CS:GO will make a smooth transition with a free upgrade to Counter-Strike 2. So clean and prime your guns, hone your skills, and get ready for game updates.

Great progress:
brand new map

All maps were built entirely from the ground up, taking full advantage of all the tools and rendering features in the new Source 2 engine.

upgrade map

These maps use the new Source 2 lighting, including a physically based rendering system that produces realistic materials, lighting, and reflections.

touchstone map

Classic maps with a solid foundation that players can use to evaluate gameplay changes from CS:GO to Counter-Strike 2. The map has been improved in terms of lighting and character understanding, but otherwise unchanged.

Move beyond refresh rate:
what you see is what you get

No longer hindered by refresh rate when moving, shooting or throwing. Updates to sub-refresh rates are at the heart of Counter-Strike 2. Previously, the server only evaluated the world at discrete time intervals (called ticks). Thanks to Counter-Strike 2's sub-refresh update architecture, the server knows the exact moment when movement starts, a gun is fired, or a projectile is thrown.

The upshot is that, regardless of the refresh rate, your movement and shooting will react the same way, and your projectiles will always land the same way.

Responsive Smoke:
game changer

Smoke bombs are now 3D dynamic objects that interact with the environment and react to lighting, gunshots and explosions.

Gameplay

Smoke can now interact with other game behaviors and events, creating new opportunities. Bullets and high-explosive grenades can push smoke, briefly clearing line of sight or accentuating occlusion effects.

expand naturally and fill the space

Now, smoke will seep from everywhere, including open doorways, broken windows, and up and down stairs. But also spread into the corridor and combine with other smoke.

light response

In Counter-Strike 2, smoke particles interact with the integrated lighting system for more realistic lighting and color effects.

Your items will have a new display
Your entire CS:GO inventory will be carried over to Counter-Strike 2. Not only will you keep every item you've collected over the years, but those items will all benefit from Source 2's lighting and texture effects.

In addition to supporting legacy models and weapon skins, all weapons in the inventory have been refreshed with high-res models, and some weapon skins benefit from these new models.

High-quality visual effects
From the interface to the gameplay, all visual effects have been redefined. All visuals in Counter-Strike 2 have been updated. With Source 2's lighting and particle systems, water, explosions, fire, smoke, muzzle flashes, tracers, impact effects, and more all have a new look and behavior.

Gameplay Visualization

In Counter-Strike 2, the most critical game visuals have been reworked with readability in mind. Bullet impacts can be easily seen from a distance, and the directional blood effects (which dissipate over time) give you more information as you move around the map.

environmental effects

Experience completely reworked explosions, fire, C4 lighting and more. Leveraging the Source 2 engine and advanced hardware, the visual fidelity and coherence of Counter-Strike 2's environments has been improved.

User Interface Optimization

The user interface in Counter-Strike 2 has been completely overhauled, including new visual effects. These improvements not only look good, but communicate important game states.

precise sound
rework, re-equalize, re-reverb

Sound effects in Counter-Strike 2 have been reworked to better reflect the physical environment, making them more unique and conveying more of the game state. It also rebalances the sound effects for a more comfortable listening experience."

Well-known e-sports journalist Richard Lewis broke the news, “Counter-Strike 2” is in development and will soon enter the testing phase, the reporter revealed the 2015 “Counter-Strike” match forgery scandal and other multiple major news related to “Counter-Strike”.

According to Lewis, who spoke to sources on condition of anonymity, he learned that “a new version of Counter-Strike is in the works and has been in the works for some time. He said, “This new version will almost certainly be released under the name Counter-Strike 2, and the expected launch of the beta is this month, no later than April 1.”

According to Lewis’ sources, the game is “ready to go” and has been in limited testing at Valve’s headquarters in Seattle. Strings related to CSGO Origin 2 update, such as “csgos2.exe” and “source2” were found in the NVIDIA GeForce Experience update file, which also indicates that CS: GO2 is in development.

In addition, the game will be made with the Source2 engine and the servers will be upgraded to 128tick to bring it in line with its competitor, Valorant.

Valve has not yet commented on the project. Currently, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive remains the most popular game on Valve’s Steam platform, attracting more than 1.3 million players online each day.
