Canon China today released an EOS R system APS-C format youth special micro camera new EOS R50 and an RF-S lens new RF-S55-210mm F5-7.1 IS STM.

The Canon EOS R50 body is priced at RMB 4599 and the EOS R50 kit (with RF-S18-45 lens) is priced at RMB 5599. The RF-S55-210mm F5-7.1 IS STM lens is priced at RMB 2699.

Canon APS-C format youth micro camera EOS R50
The EOS R50 is available in black and white body colors, and is compact and lightweight for portability, weighing about 329 grams for the white body and 328 grams for the black body.

In terms of intelligence, the EOS R50 is equipped with a wealth of intelligent shooting functions, including “Scene Intelligent Auto A+”, “SCN Special Scene”, “Creative Filter” and “Hybrid Auto”. The R50 is equipped with a wide range of intelligent shooting functions, including “Scene Intelligent Auto A+”, “SCN Special Scene”, “Creative Filter” and “Hybrid Auto”.

“Scene Intelligent Auto A+” is a fully automatic shooting mode in which the camera automatically analyzes the scene and automatically sets the appropriate shooting parameters. The new “A+ Assist” function in “Scene Intelligent Auto A+” includes “Creative Assist,” “Creative Bracketing,” and “Advanced A+. “Advanced A+, which allows users to take professional-level photos through visual wizards and simple operations.

“Creative Assist” allows users to choose from a variety of preset templates such as “Vivid”, “Warm”, “Cool”, etc. You can also individually adjust “Background Blur”, “Brightness”, “Contrast”, “Saturation”, etc. to make your photos appear more professional. ” and so on so that the photo presents the desired effect.

“Creative Bracketing” allows you to take several recommended photos with different brightness and tones in addition to the regular photos each time you take a picture so that you can choose your favorite image style from them and use them as a reference for future shooting styles.

In addition, the EOS R50’s “SCN Special Scene” mode features a variety of features including “Group Shot,” “Panorama Shot,” “Pan Shot,” and “Silent Shot. In addition, the EOS R50’s “SCN Special Scene” mode features a total of 14 scene modes, including “Group Shot,” “Panorama,” “Pan” and “Silent Shutter,” for quick recall.

The “Silent Shutter” is convenient for shooting at concerts, libraries, and other scenes that require silence.

“Panorama” allows you to take ultra-wide panoramic photos with a viewing angle of more than 180°.

“Pan” can be used to shoot moving subjects, such as airplanes, cars, motorcycles, etc. To improve the success rate of panning, the EOS R50 has a built-in “Subject Blur Wizard” that assists users in shooting while referring to the wizard.

For video, the EOS R50 supports uncropped 6K oversampling 4K 30P short film recording for more detailed, high-quality motion pictures, as well as Full HD 120P slow motion recording. As with photos, the EOS R50 detects and identifies people, animals, and two- and four-wheeled race cars for accurate focus tracking when shooting video, and digital stabilization for short films compensates for a handheld shake. When using a lens with stabilization, digital movie stabilization and lens stabilization can be controlled synergistically to achieve a more significant stabilization effect and significantly improve the success rate of movie shooting.

To meet the popular application of live streaming, the EOS R50 adds a “close-up demo clip” mode. When only the anchor is in the picture, the camera will automatically focus on the anchor’s face; when the anchor brings the display close to the camera, the camera can quickly switch the focus to precisely focus on the display, improving the smoothness and viewing of the displayed goods.

In terms of performance, the EOS R50 uses an approximate 24.2 effective megapixel APS-C frame image sensor with DIGIC X digital image processor and is equipped with a variety of image quality enhancement functions, including digital lens optimization, to reproduce the original texture and three-dimensional feel of the image.

The EOS R50 is equipped with second-generation full-pixel dual-core autofocus, which enables fast, high-precision autofocusing and subject tracking across the entire frame, even at high-speed bursts of up to 15 frames per second with the electronic shutter. The EOS R50 can detect and identify a variety of subject types, including people, cats, dogs, birds, motorcycles, or four-wheeled race cars, and can automatically detect and identify and focus on the tracking.

For lenses, the EOS R50 camera can use not only RF-S lenses, but also a variety of RF lenses, and EF / EF-S lenses with the EF-EOS R mount adapter.

Canon RF-S55-210mm F5-7.1 IS STM Lens
The RF-S55-210mm F5-7.1 IS STM is a telephoto zoom lens with an RF mount, weighing only 270 grams and measuring only about 93 mm in length when the lens is stored, making it compact and portable.

RF-S55-210mm F5-7.1 IS STM
The RF-S55-210mm F5-7.1 IS STM has a focal length coverage of 55mm-210mm and a zoom ratio of 3.8x (equivalent to approximately 88mm-336mm at 35mm equivalent focal length). It is suitable for use with EOS R-series specialty micro cameras with APS-C sensors; it can also be used with full-frame EOS R-series specialty micro cameras, where the camera automatically crops to use the center area of the full-frame sensor. When combined with the standard zoom lens RF-S18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM, this lens covers a wide range of focal lengths from 18mm wide to 210mm telephoto.

The lens features an 8-group, 11-element optical design with two UD lenses and one PMo aspherical lens, and built-in stabilization that supports CIPA standard 4.5 levels of shake compensation and up to 7 levels of synergistic stabilization when used with EOS R series models within in-body stabilization. The lens also has a closest focusing distance of 0.73 meters and a maximum magnification of 0.28x.
