Timothée Chalamet is not currently starring in any Apple original content, but that’s about to change.

Apple TV+ features almost all of Hollywood’s biggest stars,” Apple writes in the video description. Naturally, Timothée Chalamet wants to be in it too.”

Apple released a similar promotional video last year in which actor Jon Hamm expressed jealousy and never appeared in Apple TV+’s original content. Hamm went on to star in the third season of The Morning Show, which is due to start later this year.

After Disney and Netflix pushed through ad-supported subscription plans, sources say Apple Apple TV+ will also go live with a similar subscription plan in the near future. According to Business Insider, Apple is looking for a new head of its advertising business, the equivalent of Paramount’s global chief digital advertising officer and Netflix’s vice president of ad sales.

Disney and Netflix have launched ad-supported subscription plans on mainstream media service providers in the U.S., while Apple is the only platform that has not followed suit yet.

Apple TV+ currently has a subscription price of $6.99 per month for up to six family members to watch unlimited 4K programming with no ads or commercials. This inexpensive subscription plan with ads could help drive viewership of Apple’s original content, an important part of Apple’s “all originals” strategy. And more importantly, ad-supported subscriptions drive more original content, which means more advertising opportunities.

Since Apple launched Apple TV+, the streaming service has focused on original dramas and original movies in its official promotions. But Apple has recently quietly adjusted its Apple TV+ strategy, with the first appearance of a classic playback catalog.

Apple released five classic Sidney Poitier movies on Apple TV+ in September, in anticipation of the premiere of Poitier’s original series.

Apple launched Jennifer Lawrence’s previous films on Apple TV+ earlier this month to build momentum for the original film Causeway.

And as Techrader noted, Apple TV+ has quietly expanded its library of classic playback media. For example, some users searching for Spirited, Mythic Quest and Causeway on Apple TV+ will see a number of classic movies and TV shows on related topics.

Among these classics are such classics as Semi-Pro, Old School, and Van Wilder. Reports say there are at least 20 more licensed movies available on Apple TV+. But these classic throwback movies are currently limited to the U.S. and are not yet available elsewhere. But even though Apple TV+ now has a back catalog, Apple doesn’t seem to want that to be the platform’s primary strategy.

Apple today announced that it has increased the pricing of Apple Music and Apple TV + subscription services, and the Apple One bundle has also risen simultaneously.

This is the first time Apple has increased the subscription prices for Music, TV+ and Apple One in the US.

Apple said the increase in Apple Music subscription prices was due to an increase in licensing costs. The company said that authors will receive more revenue, while the price increase for Apple TV + reflects the growing variety of original TV shows and movies.

Apple Music, Apple TV+ and Apple One pricing will increase from today. the changes to Apple Music are due to increased licensing costs and, relatively speaking, artists and songwriters will earn more revenue from their music streaming. We’re also continuing to add innovative features that make Apple Music the best listening experience in the world. We launched Apple TV+ at a very low price, because we started with just a few shows and movies.
