Synology Introduces New NAS DS423+: 4-Drive, Intel Celeron J4125 Processor

After the DS1823xs+, Synology has now launched the smaller and more powerful DS423+. The DS423+ is a smaller and more powerful version of the DS1823xs+, but to most users, it looks more like a neutered version of the 920+.

The DS423+ has most of the hardware similar to the DS418 NAS, such as the same chassis, USB standard, network connectivity, memory capacity and scalability, but the only significant difference is the CPU, which is equipped with an Intel Celeron J4125 processor (4 cores 2.0~2.7 GHz) instead of the Rene RTD1619B chip (4 cores 1.7 GHz) as previously announced. with 2 GB DDR4 memory, expandable up to 6 GB.

The DiskStation DS423+ is relatively compact, measuring only 166 mm x 199 mm x 223 mm and weighing 2.18 kg.

In addition to two RJ45 Gigabit LAN ports, it offers two USB 3.2 Gen1 ports and can accommodate a total of four 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch SATA SSDs or HDDs, while two M.2-2280 SSDs (with maximum 226 MB/s read and 224 MB/s write speeds) can be installed.

The new Synology DiskStation DS423+ comes with four hard drive bays that bring up to 72 TB of storage space. This makes this compact NAS device more suitable for freelancers and self-employed, and of course for small teams who want to store their data centrally.

DSM on the Synology DS423+ protects data from corruption with an advanced Btrfs file system that helps you quickly undo accidental or malicious changes. It also enables file sharing and file management with the help of Synology Drive.

No pricing has been announced for this NAS yet, but some resellers have already offered a price of 459 Euros (currently about RMB 3387).
