Subaru’s announced agreement with Tesla to switch to NACS standards in 2025

Toyota announced an agreement with Tesla to adopt the North American Charging Standard (NACS) on its pure electric vehicles (BEV) starting in 2025, and Subaru also today An agreement for the same was announced.

Subaru said that to provide customers with a wider charging network support, the company will adopt the NACS charging interface on certain Subaru pure electric vehicles launched in North America starting in 2025, and subsequent pure electric vehicles will continue to use NACS.

In addition, the company plans to provide adapters to owners of CCS-compatible Subaru electric vehicles starting in 2025, making compatibility with the NACS charging network possible.

In June 2023, Subaru announced a new management structure and announced that by 2030, “50% of total global sales will be pure electric vehicles.”

Another automotive giant, BMW Group, announced on October 28 that it will adopt the North American Charging Standard (NACS) in the United States and Canada starting in 2025. The agreement covers BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce electric models.

So far, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Jaguar, Hyundai, Kia and other car companies have announced their participation in the Tesla NACS charging standard.
