Storage issues occur in Android 14 multi-user mode, Google says it’s investigating

A serious problem has occurred in the Android 14 system recently. This issue causes devices in multi-user mode to be unable to use storage space normally, and may even cause applications to disappear, crash frequently, or the storage to be completely locked.

On October 27, a Google representative acknowledged the issue and said the team was “working on a fix.” He responded on the Google forum: “Thank you for your patience. Our team is investigating a storage issue affecting some Pixel devices running Android 14 and is working on a fix. We will update this post with more details soon. “

It is noticed that initially this problem mainly appeared on Pixel 6 phones. But Ars Technica reported this week that Google’s issue tracker for the issue has received more than 420 responses, involving multiple different devices. Issues reported by users include apps disappearing, constantly crashing, or being unable to access internal storage on a device’s user account.

Some users posted log files or uploaded pictures of their phone screens, but multiple users said they were unable to provide screenshots of their phones because the phone showed no available storage space to save them.

At present, Google has not announced the specific cause and solution of this problem. For affected users, they can only wait for Google to launch a patch as soon as possible to fix this fault.
