Steam’s new Big Screen Mode opens for testing with Steam Deck UI

According to Steam official news, Steam is preparing to update the big screen mode with a new interface designed for Steam Deck, and it will be open for testing today.

This controller-first interface is designed for Steam Deck’s handheld mode and dock mode, perfectly adapting to the various situations to which the large screen mode currently applies. The update will include the following features for the large screen mode.

A new home screen that allows you to continue playing recently played games and see what’s new in the library.

New full-scope search, which includes the library, store, and friends list.

New Controller Configurator, which makes it simple and easy to select, adjust, or create custom controller configurations.

Optimized Steam Store page for easier controller browsing.

Updated in-game interface with access to achievements and guides.

Press the Steam / Navigation / PS keys while in-game.

New system menu for quick navigation to different sections of the interface.

Press the Steam / Navigation / PS keys to access the new menus.

New Quick Access menu to access notifications, friends list, quick settings and more.

Press Steam + A to access.
