The Steam Deck is not just a handheld that can be used to play games on Steam, it is indeed a handheld computer as it has impressive modification possibilities that can be used to emulate many different gaming devices. A few days ago, SteamDeck HQ released a video of a modified Steam Deck that can be turned into a gyroscope-enabled Wii U joystick.

According to the introduction, Steam DeckHQ focuses on covering different Steam Deck configurations and tutorials for setting up different programs and games. To convert the Steam Deck into a gyroscope-enabled Wii U controller, users need to first install the Wii U emulator Cemu on their handheld computer and install SteAMDeckGyroDSU using EmuDeck Pro mode, after which they can play games like The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Wand.

One fan responded on Twitter that he’s been looking forward to this feature and that it could make Steam Deck a complete replacement for the Wii U. Steam Deck HQ says that’s what they’re aiming for.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Wand, shown in the demo, was previously rumored to have a remastered version coming to Nintendo’s new Switch console. According to GamesBeat Editor-in-Chief Mike Minotti and Giant Bomb reporter Jeff Grubb in a podcast, both The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and The Wind Wand will be unveiled at the next Nintendo Direct launch. Minotti said that a Switch version of both games may be announced.
