Sony Xperia 1 IV gaming edition steps up performance by providing 16GB RAM

The new Sony Xperia 1 IV gaming edition with 16GB of RAM launched along side the company's new Xperia Stream for gamers.

Following the Sony Xperia Stream launch, the company also put forth a Sony Xperia 1 IV gaming edition device. This new entry improves upon memory on the original 1 IV flagship device, hence raising the specification bar. Sony by adding more memory to their flagship device making it more of a gaming device than it was at launch.

Originally, the Xperia 1 IV launched with 12GB of RAM and an option of either 256GB or 512GB of storage. At this stage, this device has more storage than even the iPhone 14 Pro Series which has only 6GB of RAM. The new gaming edition entry brings 16GB to the Xperia 1 IV flagship device.

This upgrade in the memory capacity of the Sony flagship device is to help step it up to become more of a gaming device. As we know, most gaming devices like the Black Shark 5 Series come with up to 12GB of RAM. The ASUS ROG Phone 6 on its part comes with over 18GB of RAM, Sony have found itself a sweet spot in terms of RAM capacity.

This new gaming edition device when paired with the Sony Xperia Stream makes the perfect gaming device for Sony users. Just like with the gaming accessory, the price and availability of this device are not available. More details on this device regarding pricing will be official in the coming weeks.
