Sony launches XAV-AX8500 car audio equipment with a 10.1-inch touch

Sony announced the launch of a new car audio and video product – XAV-AX8500, which will be sold at Sony authorized dealers in the winter of 2024.

According to reports, the device comes with a 10.1-inch HD 1280 x 720 fully-fit anti-glare capacitive touch screen with customizable icons and wallpapers.

Additionally, the Sony XAV-AX8500 features a Micro HDMI port for connecting external audio and video source devices for viewing while parked.

The device also features a newly designed tilt and swivel component that allows the driver to manually adjust the angle of the display, supporting a ±15-degree horizontal and vertical adjustment range without the need for tools.

Sony says this feature not only changes the screen angle to your preferred seat but also protects it from direct sunlight and can even share the navigation screen with passengers.

Sony’s announcement that the device supports vehicle startup and wake-up, user smartphone Wi-Fi connection, and provides a GPS antenna, supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

In other respects, Sony XAV-AX8500 supports USB-C interface 15W reverse power supply, as well as LDAC decoding, compatible FLAC audio files, etc., as well as gold-plated 3-core terminals, allowing users to build full acoustic systems, mono amplifiers and 4-channel amplifiers.
