Sony Honda collaborative electric car brand named Afeela: first prototype unveiled

Sony Honda Mobility, a joint venture between Sony and Honda, was unveiled at CES 2023, where the two sides officially named the new brand Afeela and showed off Afeela’s first electric concept model at the same time.

The car has not yet disclosed the full technical specifications, exterior design using streamlined body curves, while abandoning the door handles and traditional mirrors, the use of electronic exterior mirrors, so that the overall design more simple, wheelbase of 3000 mm.

The car is equipped with a unique Media Bar at the front of the car, which is used to display not only the car logo but also different contents, including charging progress. The car will also support L2 level driving assistance for urban driving scenarios.

The car will feature a total of 45 cameras and sensors inside and out, an extra-long integrated center screen inside, and will also integrate Sony’s entertainment features such as film, music, and games with mobile platforms such as Qualcomm’s Snapdragon digital chassis, and Epic’s Unreal Engine 5.

Afeela’s first model is expected to open for pre-sale in the first half of 2025, with the first deliveries scheduled for 2026 in the same year.
