Sony’s PlayStation division has just announced the acquisition of Savage Game Studios, a game development team with roots in Germany (Berlin) and Finland (Helsinki) that specializes in action games for mobile platforms. As a game development team with roots in Germany (Berlin) and Finland (Helsinki) that specializes in action games for mobile platforms, Savage Game Studios CEO and co-founder Michail Katkoff told PlayStation gamers that he joined forces with Nadjim Adjir and Michael He was joined by Nadjim Adjir and Michael McManus to launch the studio in 2020.

Michail Katkoff stated.

"Thanks to years of experience in mobile game development, Savage Game Studios has created a series of world-renowned IPs.

The company is committed to providing a creative space that is not so careful to avoid, but rather eager to embrace and undertake experiments and adventures.

On the one hand, we respect the advantages of the ample resources available when working in a large studio. On the other hand, we want to remain small, flexible, and self-directed."

As for why he joined PlayStation Studios, Michail Katkoff explained that

" The deal was struck because we believed that the PlayStation Studios leadership would respect how we could balance our vision of best operations and success, and they weren't afraid to take risks.

Coupled with the potential to leverage PlayStation's amazing IP library, Savage Game Studios could better benefit from this support, and everyone said 'why not?

On behalf of everyone at Savage Game Studios, please allow me to thank PlayStation Studios for their kind invitation. We can't wait to show you what we've been doing!"

Finally, Hermen Hulst, head of PlayStation Studios, assured fans that — while strengthening mobile efforts — PlayStation will not diminish the existing console platforms, as well as the growing PC experience, and that Savage is already working on a 3A action game.

"By strengthening our mobile game efforts, we hope to provide more people with more ways to experience PlayStation IP and work to engage new audiences that are less familiar with PlayStation games.

Savage Game Studios will join the newly formed PlayStation Studios Mobile Division, which will be independent of the existing console development operations team and will focus on innovative mobile experiences based on existing and new PlayStation IP.

Whether you love console, PC, or mobile platforms, please join us in welcoming Savage Game Studios to the PlayStation Studios family today."
