Audio maker Sonos is planning to launch a high-end wireless headset, according to a person familiar with the matter. The person familiar with the matter said that the wireless headphones, which are still in the early stages of development, will probably be launched next year and priced at more than $300.
Sonos has spent the last few years focusing on multi-room audio (multi-room audio) systems. And as early as 2019, Bloomberg news that Sonos will expand new audio product categories, and headphones is one of the direction.
Foreign tech media 9to5Mac believes that these headphones from Sonos may be sold on audio fidelity and will be integrated into the existing Sonos ecosystem. How headphones, portable speakers and home audio work together is an interesting question.
In an interview with foreign tech media outlet The Verge, Sonos CEO Patrick Spence hinted at a new product launch in 2023.
While we are very cautious about announcing our product roadmap, we will be launching four new products, one of which will be announced in fiscal 2023,” Spence said at Sonos’ earnings meeting on Wednesday. He stressed that the new categories will help diversify Sonos’ business in the long run.
