The Windows 11 22H2 feature update has started to be pre-installed in new laptops. A user on the foreign forum Thurott, WILL, recently bought a Dell laptop, but to his surprise, it has a new boot screen and Windows 11 22H2 installed.
It was previously announced that the Windows 11 22H2 feature update would go live on September 20 with Build 22621.382, but WILL says the Dell laptop he received has Build 22621.521.
I’m not sure if this is actually shipping, but I just received a Dell laptop with Windows 11 22H2, internal version 22621.521. I think it’s a bit different because it has the new circular animation at the startup. Has anyone else gotten their hands on the new hardware with Windows 11 22H2?”
A few days ago, Microsoft released the KB5017321 cumulative update for Release Preview channel users, which brought users up to Build 22621.521 after installation, and users have reported successful installation of the update on several communities and social media platforms, including the official Microsoft support forums.
However, Microsoft hasn’t really released any support articles or blog post pages detailing the changes, which seems to have become a habit for the company lately.
